Pursuing Masters Degree in Broadcast Journalism, Columbia University, AUGUST 2012-MAY 2013 In the first semester covered stories about water, particularly in the area of Chelsea. I covered the anti-fracking movement and Hurricane Sandy extensively, many of my pictures and two stories were published on the class website. Also received Honors in class for a History of Journalism essentials class. In the second semester had classes in Nightly News, National Affairs Reporting and Photography. Diploma in Broadcast Journalism, Asian College of Journalism, Chennai, India, JULY 2009-MAY 2010 Shot, edited and voiced two short films as part of the course. One focused on the lives of children of sex workers in Chennai. The other film was part of a Covering Deprivation Project and was an investigative piece on how Tsunami relief was not reaching a particular Irula tribe that lived on the outskirts. Also completed a training program with the BBC in Broadcast Journalism. Bachelors Degree in Mass Media, Journalism Honors, Jai Hind College, Mumbai, India, JULY 2005-JULY 2008 The Degree focused on all facets of Mass Media. We studied essentials of psychology in the media, public relations, advertising and media marketing. In our last year we focused on Journalism. In my last semester, shot, edited and voiced a short film on morgue workers in public hospitals to expose lack of health facilities in Mumbai.

WORK EXPERIENCE
TIMES NOW BROADCASTING LIMITED, Senior Reporter and anchor, MAY 2010-JUNE 2012 Responsibilities included building rundowns, breaking news on ticker, handling social media for primetime bulletins, supervising graphics, bytes and content from production control room. Duties also included managing shifts, scouting for stories, pitching, writing and supervising editing of news packages. Anchored primetime bulletins. Managed news desk as shift supervisor and rundown editor and playe role in shaping the days editorial agenda for the channel. RADIO ONE, Breakfast Producer and Radio Jockey, MARCH 2009-JULY 2009 Responsible for content of the show. Oversaw technicalities, song selection and managerial duties. Set up interviews, deliverables, and scheduling and promo production. Co hosted breakfast and afternoon shows. Covered events as Outdoors Broadcast Jockey, which involved interaction with listeners. BIG FM, Associate Producer and Radio Jockey, MAY 2008-FEBRUARY 2009 Responsibilities were overseeing evening drive time show, aimed at working professionals and college students. Content generation for show, setting up interviews and pitching. Jockeyed two shows on Sundays, one on food and lifestyle in Mumbai and the other an interview with a popular movie star/singer/ producer. Also covered terror attack in Mumbai in 2008 and anchored all night shows.
