The housing and insert assembly is machined to accommodate installation of the adjustment clip. The existing guide and insert assembly is to be replaced with a smaller diameter guide and insert assembly on a use stock basis. In addition, the threads are eliminated from the eight holes in the guide.
To reduce the bypass valve side-loading, 1. The valve plug bore is increased and the valve spring is replaced with a smaller diameter spring, increasing the clearance between the valve plug and spring. The existing diaphragm clamping nut and washer are replaced with a smaller diameter nut and washer, increasing the clearance between the spring inner diameter and nut.

The accomplishment instructions are written in two parts: (I) Fuel Control disassembly, housing and insert assembly inspection and rework, and valve plug rework and (2) Fuel Control assembly, calibration, and reidentification. Revision No. 1 November 9, 1972

Disassemble the fuel control. (Refer to Appendix A of 250-C20 Overhaul Manual, Volume II.) Discard the following parts from the start derichment cavity and bypass valve: P/N 93613 Spring, MS35265-4 Fillister Head Machine Screw, P/N 94149 Washer, and NASl29lCO4M Nut. Inspect P/N 94205 Housing and Insert Assembly. in Appendix A of the Overhaul Manual.) 1. (Refer to Table II-4

If the assembly passes inspection, rework to the P/N 97099 configuration shown in Figure 1, using STD67136 Milling Fixture (or equivalent). Reidentify the reworked assembly as P/N 97099. If the assembly is rejected at inspection, rework existing P/N 94205 spare stock until exhausted to the P/N 97099 configuration shown in Figure 1, using STD67136 Milling Fixture (or equivalent). Reidentify reworked assemblies as P/N 97099.

Rework P/N 93495 Valve Plug bore to P/N 97437 configuration shown in Figure 2. Reidentify the reworked plug as P/N 97437.

Install reworked or new P/N 97437 Valve Plug in the main cover assembly. Replace P/N 94224 Guide and Insert Assembly with P/N 97102 Assembly when the guide and insert assembly fails to pass overhaul inspection and the spare stock of superseded assemblies is depleted. Assemble bypass valve using new P/N 98428 Washer and P/N 98429 Nut. Tighten nut to 2-3 lb in above running torque. Minimum running torque is 3 lb in. and maximum running torque is 10 lb in. Reidentify bypass valve as P/N 98456. Install P/N 98450 Bypass Valve with new P/N 97429 Spring. Revision No. 1 November 9, 1972 Published September 27, 1972
