Scouting new Fashion Brands

In a global market increasingly dynamic, fierce and competitive, Fashion Companies are constantly looking for managers trained and sensitive to the issues of fashion and to the new instances of ethics and sustainability: new managers able to capture and transform the innovative ideas of designers into successful products. With the Master Program in Fashion Management, Domus Academy has taken up this challenge developing, in close collaboration with leading professionals and with the most prestigious Italian and international fashion realities, a training course aiming at raising a new generation of fashion professionals rich in both managerial expertise and sensitivity to this creative sector.

Candidates are requested to identify, in their country of origin, a new product line or a young emerging fashion brand in clothing (men or women) or accessories or jewelry fields, in which they recognize a great potential for development and success. They will then justify and explain the meaning of their choice by developing a project for the line or the chosen brand, illustrating: strengths of the chosen product, potential target, potential distribution channels - traditional or e-commerce and communications strategies.

The works must be mailed to Domus Academy by and no later than 3rd May 2013. Candidates will be informed about the results of the competition by e-mail on 17th May 2013.

The competition is open to professionals and graduates in economics, business administration, human science, and fashion related disciplines, that are passionate about fashion and eager to develop new skills in order to start a career in a fashion company. It is also open to fashion designers willing to launch a personal label and entrepreneurs or owners of a family business operating in the fashion industry.



the Master Program aims at preparing the next generation of managers for the fashion industry: open-minded professionals able to add value to the creativity of fashion designers and to turn it into business opportunities. Managers capable to bring innovation into the management and production processes, marketing strategies, communication and distribution for old and new markets. The program is structured in three phases. the first phase provides students with the necessary tools and knowledge to approach the fashion system. Closely developed with companies, the second phase consists of a series workshops aimed at deeply exploring the main topics of fashion management: product management, brand management, fashion buying, retail management, fashion communication and events. During each workshop, students will develop a project especially focusing on the topic explored. the third phase is dedicated to the Final Master Thesis.

The candidates are asked to send their materials in one sole file in .PDF format. Any further attached material will be considered a plus and will be evaluated by the jury.
* Application fee is waived for competition participants.


Candidates holding a first-level academic diploma or BA degree, or about to graduate within the academic year 2012/13 and with a knowledge of the english language (IelTS 5.0 academic or equivalent certificate minimum).

One scholarship covering 70% of the total tuition fee of the Master Program. One scholarship covering 50% of the total tuition fee of the Master Program. One scholarship covering 30% of the total tuition fee of the Master Program.
