FLIP-FLOP

Bi-stable device Has two output states, one of which is the complement of the other. Known as a memory element. Use for storing 1 bit of information.

COMBINATIONAL CIRCUIT
A logic circuit in which the output is dependent only on the present levels of inputs. Decision making. Example: logic gates

SEQUENTIAL CIRCUIT

A logic circuit in which the output is dependent not only on the present levels of inputs but also on the past history of the circuit. It has feedback. Example: flip-flops
