A 32-year-old Utica man ' has been charged with the fatal. Saturday-night stabbing in Clinton of a 20-year-old <JlayviUe woman. Dead is Faith Benjamin "Smith, wife Of William C. -Smith Jr., of Holman City Road. Clayville. Smith is an employe of Divine Brothers Company, Utica. They had no children. State Police in New Hartford have charged Lavern G. Knisely, of West Adrean Terrace, an unemployed airplane mechanic, with plunging a hunting knife into Mrs. Smith's heart. A coroner's autopsy yesterday revealed that Mrs. Smith died about 7 p.m. Saturday night, the approximate time of the stabbing.
