IMPORTANT: Initial Battery Charge Your new Verbatim mouse comes packaged with a set of rechargeable batteries. In order to ensure best results you should charge the mouse batteries at least 4-6 hours before use. This can be done by connecting the mouse to the USB port of a powered on computer with the supplied batteries in the mouse. Turn off your computers power management feature while charging the batteries, otherwise while the PC is in sleep mode power will not be supplied to the USB port. See step 4 for instructions on installing batteries.

3. Product Features Wireless: 2.4GHz, the latest in wireless technology, providing significantly improved reliability and performance over conventional 27MHz based mice. Store-Away Receiver: Convenient wireless USB receiver storage is built into the mouse to protect and store while traveling or not in use. Rechargeable Batteries: The included rechargeable batteries can be used and re-used simply by charging through a PCs USB port using the included USB cable. Power Saving: Automatic power saving sleep function. When not in use mouse will automatically power down in order to save and prolong battery life. Power Off Button: Use the ID button on the underside to save battery power when not in use for an extended period of time by keeping pushed until the LED light blinks and turns off. Hi-Definition Optical: 1000dpi high-definition optical technology means 2.5 times more reliability than standard optical mice. Coated Surface: Smooth, coated mouse surface for comfortable use.

If necessary, this mouse can also be powered by connecting the USB cable to the mouse and USB port of a computer, thereby eliminating the need for batteries.

4. Battery Installation & Charging a. Remove the top cover of the mouse by pushing down on the area indicated in the image below while simultaneously sliding the cover forward.

b. Insert the supplied batteries, making sure that the positive (+) and negative (-) ends of each battery match the polarity indicators inside the battery housing. c. Slide the cover back into position d. For first time use ensure the batteries are charged by connecting to a powered on computer, using the included USB cable, for 4-6 hours. e. When battery power is low as indicated by the low battery LED, see below, re-charge the batteries fully. Depending on the level of power full recharge will require approximately 8-10 hours.

5. Synchronization Connect the USB receiver to an available USB port. After your computer detects the receiver you must establish a communications link between the mouse and the receiver before being able to use, by following these instructions. a. Press and release the connect button on the USB receiver. After doing so the receivers LED blinks to demonstrate it is activated. If this does not occur try once more while pressing for a few seconds longer. b. Press and release the connect button located on the underside of the mouse and indicated by the ID logo. c. See image below for location of both connect buttons.

d. Once a communications link is established the mouse can be used immediately. Should there be any issues in the first attempt please restart from Step. A once more.

6. Store-Away USB Receiver a. To store the USB receiver while not in use insert into the receiver storage area in the front of the mouse. b. Insert with the connect button facing upwards. c. Remove the USB receiver by pushing down on the remove button on the top of the mouse. The USB receiver will be ejected from the storage area. See image below for location of the receiver remove button.

7. Operating Hints a. Remove the batteries if the mouse will not be used for an extended period of time. b. The mouse can be powered off by pressing and holding the ID button on the underside of the mouse for over 3 seconds or until the light blinks off. c. For optimal performance and wireless reception the mouse should be used within a distance of 0.6 - 1.5m. d. The mouse will enter sleep mode if not used for an extended period of time. Press any mouse key or scroll wheel to begin re-use. e. Avoid using the mouse on metal surfaces, reflective surfaces such as glass or 3D mouse pads.

8. Troubleshooting a. What do I do if the mouse does not work? Make sure that the batteries are inserted correctly. Make sure the batteries are fully charged. Check your computers suspend mode settings. The mouse will not charge while the computer is in suspend or sleep mode. Check that the receivers USB connector is firmly attached to the USB port on your computer Ensure you have established a wireless communication link between the mouse and its receiver by following the Syncronization steps as described in this manual.

b. My mouse does not work on a mirror or glass surface. Although rated for most surfaces if you are using the mouse on reflective or mirrored surface it will need to be moved to another surface for example by placing a writing pad or paper under the mouse.

c. What to do if the response time of the mouse is slow or intermittent? Metals, such as iron, aluminium or copper may slow down the mouses response time or cause the mouse intermittent failure. If you are using the mouse on a metal surface, move it and the receiver to a non-metal surface.
