BACK: With size 15 needle cast on 47 stitches. Row 1- (WS): P1, *K1, P1, repeat from * to end of row Row 2 - (RS): Knit Repeat last two rows until work measures 2 12 ending with a WS row Now work in stockinette stitch (knit right side rows, purl wrong side rows) until work from beginning measures 20 ending with a wrong side row Next row K across, decreasing 1 stitch at beginning and end of row (45) Work two more inches in stockinette Next row K across, decreasing 1 stitch at beginning and end of row (43)sts Continue in stockinette stitch until work from beginning measures 25 Bind off 4 sts at beginning of next 2 rows (armhole decreases) Decrease one stitch at beginning and end of next 2 RS rows (31)sts Work in stockinette to 9 above armhole decreases Bind off 4 sts at beginning of next 4 rows (15)sts Bind off remaining 15 stitches LEFT FRONT: With size 15 needle cast on 23 sts Row 1- (WS): P1, *K1, P1, repeat from * to end of row Row 2 - (RS): Knit Repeat last two rows until work measures 2 12 ending with a WS row Now work in stockinette stitch (knit right side rows, purl wrong side rows) until work from beginning measures 20 ending with a wrong side row Decrease 1 stitch at beginning of next row (22)sts Repeat decrease at beginning of a RS row when piece measures 22.(21)sts Continue in stockinette stitch until work from beginning measures 25 ending with a WS row Bind off 4 stitches at beginning of next row (armhole edge) (17)sts Decrease one stitch at beginning of next two right side rows (15 stitches) Work to in stockinette stitch to 6 inches above armhole decreases End with right side row Bind off 3 stitches at beginning of next row (12) sts Bind off 2 stitches at beginning of following wrong side row (neck edge) (10)sts Continuing in stockinette st, decrease 1 stitch at neck edge 2 times (8)sts Work until the same length as back to shoulders Bind off four stitches at armhole edge twice. RIGHT FRONT: Work same as left front reversing shaping SLEEVES: make two With size 13 needle, cast on 25 stitches Repeat rows 1 and 2 of back until cuff is 2 12 inches Change to size 15 needles and work in stockinette stitch Increase one stitch at each end on seventh row and every following sixth row until you have 37 stitches Work even until work measures 16 inches Bind off four stitches at beginning of next two rows (29)sts Decrease one stitch on each end of every other row 9 times (11)sts Bind off two stitches at beginning of next two rows (7)sts Bind off remaining 7 stitches. FINISHING: Sew fronts to back at shoulders Sew in sleeves Sew side and underarm seams BUTTON BAND: With right side facing using size 13 needle pick up 69 sts Row 1 - Work in 1 x 1 rib Row 2 - K across Repeat rows 1 and 2 once more Bind off all stitches loosely Mark band for button placement Place rst button at bottom 1 12 from beginning Place last button 1 12 from top edge Mark placement for four additional buttons (approximately every ve inches). BUTTONHOLE BAND: With right side facing pick up 69 sts along right front Row 1 work in 1x1 rib pattern Row 2 K working buttonholes to correspond to button placements (To make buttonholes: Work to rst buttonhole placement, K 2 sts tog, YO work to next buttonhole placement and repeat. On following row work pattern stitch over YO.) Work one more row in 1x1 rib Bind off knitwise (there should be 4 rows of ribbing) COLLAR: With right side of coat facing and with size 15 needle pick up 39 stitches along neck edge. Begin picking up just after front band and continue to other front band. Row 1 - K1, P1 rib across Row 2 - K across Repeat rows 1 and 2 until collar measures 4 Bind off knitwise (as loosely as possible)
