Pray for the city of Valence, France

Valence is the city in which I will be serving in France. It is located in the south of France, about 5 hours south of Paris and about 1.5 hours north of Marseille, France. The closest larger city nearby is Lyon, France, which is about 1 hour north of Valence.

Pray for ministry opportunities

I plan to get involved in ministries in the south of France while I am in Valence. Please pray that I find the right ones.

Pray for Partnership Development

I am currently in the process of getting prayer partners as well as financial partners. Both are essential to my ministry with Wycliffe Bible Translators. Please pray that I am able to reach 100% financial partnership before I am scheduled to leave for France.

Pray for advocates

I am also looking for people who will speak at churches and with individuals on my behalf (advocates). This is in addition to the effort I am giving, not replacing my effort on Partnership Development.

Pray for people I will meet in France

My ministry will be related to social media and ministry to the churches, but I will also daily be in contact with the French.

Pray that I continue to learn French

I have been speaking French for ten years, but I still have a lot to learn to improve. Please pray that I will continue to work towards native-level French. I am fluent, but my written French is better than my spoken French.

7. Pray for my readjusting to the culture

I have been to France before, but it has been eight years (I went in the summer of 2005 for a few weeks). Please pray that I am able to readjust to the French culture. It is full of great food and history.

8. Pray for God to shine through me

God wants to work in the lives of the French as much as He wants to work in the lives of Christians everywhere.

9. Pray for my adjusting to the climate

France, especially the south of France, has a different climate than Alabama. Please pray that I am able to adjust to the cold climate in the winter and the rather hot summers (although I am rather used to those by now).

10. Pray for my ability to stay close to God while overseas

I will be away from the area in which I am accustomed. Please pray that I continue in the Word on my own even though I will be helping support Bible translation.
