Dear Friends and family, Kari and I are so excited to share with you the vision and direction that God has called us to over these last few months. As many of you know, we have always felt very strongly about inner-city outreach and missions. Over the past two years, through involvement at our home church (Victory Christian Center in Terre Haute, Indiana), we have had the pleasure of carrying out that vision of reaching the helpless, the hurting, and the hungry. We have experienced an incredible move of God and been humbled in the process of reaching out to hundreds of men, women, and children. Through these various outreaches and events, we have seen many families come to a better understanding of Jesus love in action as we helped meet the physical needs of those in our community. In November of 2012, following a Sunday morning service, Kari and I got into the car and began to share with one another what God had spoken to us during the service. As we discussed our thoughts and feelings together, it became clear that God was calling us back into full-time ministry and that the transition would be coming soon. It was something that we had been talking about for years and praying that, when His timing was right, He would open the door. At that moment we knew, without a shadow of a doubt, that God was calling us back to the mission field and that three things were certain: 1 - Gods timing was right 2 - We would be partnering with Teen Challenge 3 - Our mission field would be Las Vegas, Nevada You might be wondering, Why Las Vegas? Well...

...thirteen percent of Nevadas population is in need of substance abuse services and in Las Vegas alone, there are over 13,000 men, women, and children whose homes have been replaced with tents, beds of a trucks, shelters, and even the backseats of cars. As God continues to make the need clear, He goes on to deliver a fresh vision that is specific to reaching the people of Las Vegas. One of the first scriptures that God revealed to me came in the form of a random text message at 1:52am. That verse was Isaiah 43:19, Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the desert, and rivers in the wasteland. This scripture spoke volumes to me and Kari. It confirmed our thoughts and feelings that God was doing something new in our lives. It has become evident that we are going to play a key role in His plan to reach the lost and hurting people of Las Vegas. We believe that there will be a day when people will come from all over to find life in the desert. For those of you that may not know, Teen Challenge is one of the most successful recovery programs in the world, with more than 200 centers across the United States. It was at Teen Challenge where my life was redirected from a drug-addicted adolescent to a man who searches after Gods heart. Traditionally, this ministry offers 12-18 month residential recovery services for all ages and anyone who may be struggling with a life-controlling problem. Although the need for residential treatment is great, we feel that a slightly different approach is required for this specific population of Nevada. Our initial focus will begin with an outreach center which will be equipped in meeting the immediate physical needs of those seeking help.

In our current situation, we have asked God to make this transition as smooth as possible for our girls. Emma will be starting Kindergarten in the Fall so our goal is to be relocated to the Henderson area, just outside of Las Vegas, no later than August of 2013. Due to the fact that Kari and I are operating as independent missionaries, under the umbrella of Teen Challenge NorWestCal Nevada, we will be raising the funds necessary for our budget. At this time, we are asking all of our friends, family, and those closest to us to prayerfully consider supporting this call on our lives. Although we are very excited about this opportunity, its time to put our faith into motion. Our financial goal is to raise $54,000 by June 1st of 2013. Yes, thats 3 zeros after the number 54. We are reminded of Philippians 4:13 as we look upon this budget and the timeframe for which we have to raise this amount. We can do all things through Him who gives us strength. Wed like to thank you in advance for your partnership, prayers, and support. With much love,

David & Kari
