Role: Face-painting on St. Patrick's Day 2013 - Suas Educational Development What's Involved? hamrocks for Schools *This St. Patrick's Day, Suas needs you. We need your time, your energy and your enthusiasm to help us paint the town green and give thousands of children in Ireland, India and Kenya the chance of a quality education. *We are asking for a commitment from you to help out for at least one 2 hour shift, during which you will be painting small shamrocks on people's faces Where: Dublin City Centre When: 2 hours on St. Patrick's Day Role: Web Developer/ Web designer - The Christina Noble Children's Foundation What's Involved? To design the foundation's website from scratch, including all content, images and overall layout. The website needs to have easy navigation, which will clearly highlight fundraising events, current news from the Irish office and also a prominent section for our volunteers. Where: 22 South Frederick Street, Dublin 2 When: 4-6 hours per week for 1-3 months Role: Toddler/Childcare Volunteer - Respond! Housing Association What's Involved? Voluteer required to assist in the running/supervision of a homework club. Volunteer required to assist in the running of a parent and toddler programme. Respond have another four roles on our website, work with older people, befrienders, gardeners and events organizer. Where Office base at High Park, Grace Park Road, Drumcondra, Dublin 9 and then Respond estate in Gleann na hEorna, Springfield, Tallaght. When: 20-35 hours per week, 6 month commitment Role: Voices4Care Group Member - All Ireland Institute of Hospice and Palliative Care What's Involved? Voices4Care is an initiative of All Ireland Institute of Hospice and Palliative Care (AIIHPC) - an all-island organisation working to improve palliative and end-of-life care for patients and their families. *In the context of AIIHPC's work, this group will share and discuss issues which will inform how best to care for people with an illness or condition which may limit or shorten their lives. Voices4Care will be a volunteer group of approximately 30 members made up of: *patients/service users receiving palliative care, *carers or former carers of adults with palliative care needs, (carers refers to those caring for a relative/loved one, rather than health or social care professionals), and *people from the wider community interested in palliative care. Where: Various locations When quarterly meetings for up to 24 months Role: Fundraising Events Coordinator - Cradle What's Involved: To assist in all fundraising events. To assist in developing a fundraising/information pack. *To assist in the general administration for different fundraisers. Assist in promoting Cradle and our work: reaching out to children worldwide that are caught up in war-torn regions and areas of environmental disaster through no fault of their own. Where: 44 Lower Gardiner Street, Dublin 1When: 2 days a week for 6 months initially Role: Swimming assistant - St John of God, Menni Services What's Involved: We require volunteers to assist with children in the swimming pool on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings and Wednesday afternoons for one hour. We also need volunteers to assist male and females to go swimming for 2 hours during the week. The person does not necessarily have to be able to swim, they just need to be willing to give one hour in the water assisting the child. St. John of God have 5 more volunteer roles on our website, including Gardener, Travel Assistant and Social Club Assistant Where: Islandbridge, Dublin 8 When: 2 hours per week for 6 months
