John 19: 30-37 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his

head, and gave up, the ghost. The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the Sabbath day (for that Sabbath day was a high day), besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him. But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs. But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. And that he saw it bare record, and his record is true; and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe. For these things were done, that the Scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken. And again another Scripture saith, they shall look on him whom they pierced. His message during Jesuss time is for what was finished was not only Christs earthly life, suffering and dying, the payment for sin and redemption of the world, but the very reason and purpose he came to earth was finished. His final act of obedience was complete. The Scriptures has been fulfilled. His message to us right now: Jesus accomplished what we never could taking our sin upon himself and giving us his life in return. We are the beneficiaries of his unique effort. Nothing can separate us from Gods love.

Luke 23: 44-47

And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst. And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands, I commend my spirit: and having said

thus, he gave up the ghost. Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man. During Jesuss time, we view his complete trust in the Father. Jesus entered death the same way he lived each day of his life, offering up his life as the perfect sacrifice and placing himself in Gods hands. Rather than waiting for death to come and take him, Jesus used his perfect freedom and chose to die. His message to us right now: There are only 3 things we can do with our freedom. We can direct it selfishly towards ourselves, scatter it among a thousand trivial things, and surrender it to God. The first option is by far the most damaging because when we believe we are free to act as badly as we choose, we become slaves to our addictions. The second alternative can be found in people who have no direction. The final choice is to surrender yourself to God and His will. Jesus ability to trust God even in the midst of most dire circumstances stands as an encouragement for us to do the same.
