RADIO & TV EXPERIENCE BBC World Service October 2011 - Present Broadcast Journalist/Producer: I am a radio producer on Newshour the flagship News and Current Affairs programme on BBC World Service. I generate and produce multiple original story ideas everyday, cast discussions, edit interviews, write cues/scripts and brief presenters. I also get to produce packages on an ad hoc basis for the programme too. The job requires me to have in depth knowledge of UK and international affairs, global politics, trends and stories that would resonate to a global audience. I specialise in Russian and former Soviet Union countries. ITN Tonight August 2011 Jan 2012 Freelance Journalist/Researcher: I worked on the 30min current affairs strand on ITV1. I produce interviews with the reporter, research topics, set up shoots in the UK & abroad. Topics covered: PIP breast implants, Somalian famine, Insomnia, the Eurozone Crisis and global economic outlook. October Films July 2011- Jan 2012 Freelance Researcher: Working on popular C4 TV series Rude Tube, sourcing all rights to Russian language clips. Editing all Russian language material for the show. ITV London Tonight May 2011 Working on producing a daily news bulletin programme in a busy newsroom, setting up stories with planning, recording interviews for packages, editing clips and scripting v/o for broadcast. The Canadian Press The Royal Wedding Freelance Video Journalist: I filmed, edited and voiced five packages over the royal wedding weekend. They were all shown on several Canadian newspapers websites. The packages focused on the experiences of Canadians in London during the wedding weekend. Russia Today April 2011 Intern: London bureau I researched stories, pitched ideas, booked guests for lives and edited long form interviews for broadcast and then uploaded them to Moscow. I shadowed Laura Emmett out in the field while reporting and making packages. Today - BBC Radio 4 January- March 2011 A three-week placement as part of my MA at City I pitched and set up stories for the show. I booked guests for discussions and two-ways. I also researched and wrote briefs for the presenters on guests and also edited audio for broadcast from interviews I conducted. LBC Radio 97.3 July 2010 February 2011 Freelance Sports Assistant Producer: I worked on Scores with Ian Payne writing up copy for the show on all the sporting fixtures of the day and live commentary of specific football matches as they happen as well as writing copy for the web. I also topped and tailed audio clips for broadcast and bulletins. Tiger Aspect Researcher: The Home Show (C4) prime time Thursday 8pm. 15 strong production team.
