This is the camera that will be used to film our production. It is a DSLR that has 1080p video capabilities. This camera will allow me to get numerous angles, which relate back to the folk genre convention where there are numerous angles of the bands or artist singing. This is a tripod. Not the exact tripod we will use but is showing you what it looks like and the basic use. It will allow me to film with precession and stability. I will be able to film from taller heights I am able to handheld and lower shots. It helps me with the genre convention of gaining numerous camera angles. We have one scene where a man is sitting on a hay bale playing the guitar in sync with the diegetic music. This is complying with a genre convention. The use of a traditional folk music instrument. This will help me with the performance aspect to my product. Seth Lakeman was my inspiration when focusing on my product. In all of his videos his violin is present and he conforms to the convention of using a traditional instrument. In the first scene there is white room with a man in bed. As we are filming in my loft it is impossible to get a bed in so we have decided to use a camp bed and build it up to appear bigger. This to an extent challenges folk genre conventions because it relates to a suburban area, which indicates a more mainstream genre. This is my way of expressing the ways in which

folk is becoming more mainstream and their fan base is increasing. A perfect example is Mumford and Sons. They are the first band to make the full transition. They are an excellent band to be inspired by through my journey to the final product. In the first scene a man Is in a bed so we need to use lots of quilts to build the camp bed up to look like a single bed. This allows me to create the same feel but reduce the costs and have more money for the performance base to my product. We are filming the first few scenes in my loft which is not white. I had the idea to hang white sheets suggest a hospital style room. The reason for this is because it tells the audience that I am trying to evoke a sense of death and ill health. Also in the first scenes with the ill brother in bed we are going to use a drip. As this is a perfect signifier that someone is unwell. It allows the viewer to become an active audience because they might be able to relate to what is going in the narrative story. The very first scene we have the camera scaling the side of my house entering through the loft window. The best idea I have come up with is to attach a camera to the end of a pole and lift it up. String is one of my ideas to attach the camera to the pole while it scales the side of the building

In the scene where the brother visits the grave I decided to incorporate a flower or a bunch of flowers. This allows the viewers to become a active as they might be able to relate to whats happening. As gravestones are usually in a suburban area, I decided to place the headstone in an open space that has real meaning to the brothers in the narrative. This will conform to the genre convention of folk being in a natural and open place. In the scene where the brother is holding flowers, he takes them to a grave. Instead of using a real gravestone, as it is a little disrespectful I thought of creating a wooden cross and laser cutting the name of the ill brother onto it. This also allows the audience to relate to the narrative story within my product.
