A t last, there is an American made side-by-side in production that can compete with the finest European and British handcrafted double
shotguns. In the Ruger Gold Label, Ruger’s modern manufacturing techniques and materials combine precision and durability with aesthetic
and dynamic harmony, once achieved only through months of skilled hand labor. The result is a premium quality shotgun with the
performance and reliability you expect from Ruger.
At only 6 1/3 pounds, the Gold Label balances gracefully, with the lively responsiveness demanded by the upland game hunter.
Lightweight hammer-forged barrels, relieved forcing cones, and thin, steel-shot-compatible screw-in choke tubes ensure uniform patterns,
pattern flexibility, and superb handling dynamics. A matte steel rib and gold bead sight draw the eye naturally to game or clays as surely as
the graceful stock and splinter forend guide the hands toward the target.
The Gold Label is a work of art, to be cherished during your lifetime, then passed on to another who exults in the joy of being afield on
a crisp fall day.

.410 bore, a tube set is available for your 28 gauge Ruger shotgun. Your shotgun can be ordered with either a pistol grip stock or a straight grip
English-style stock, a choice of three different barrel lengths, and a plain or engraved receiver. Blued models feature finely polished brushed
stainless steel receivers, hammer-forged alloy steel barrels and premium American Walnut stocks, while All-Weather models feature stainless
steel components and black synthetic stocks. All exposed stainless steel components on Target Grey® models feature Ruger’s unique, corrosion
resistant, low-glare finish. In total, Ruger offers a family of 27 superior shotgun models that provide dependable service for every shotgun sport.
The Ruger Red Label over-and-under shotgun features hammer-forged steel barrels, virtually unbreakable firing pins, and a
dovetailed, free-floating rib. The locking system, sleek and compact, is considered among the strongest ever built for over-and-under shotguns,
and the barrels are back bored for softer recoil and more uniform patterns. In every detail of styling, fit and finish, it meets standards set by

Since its introduction in 1968, the original Ruger M77 and its descendants have been recognized as the leaders in the field of centerfire bolt
action rifles. The Ruger diagonal front-screw bedding system firmly anchors the receiver into the stock inletting more effectively than any
other system devised. Its one-piece bolt has proven to be one of the strongest on the market, standing up over the years to such magnum
cartridges as the 375 H&H and 416 Rigby.
Today, Ruger centerfire bolt action rifles are available in both blued and stainless steel, in right- and left-handed configurations, and in
twenty-seven calibers ranging from the New 204 Ruger at 4,225 feet per second to the powerful 458 Lott. Ruger M77 Mark II rifles are suitable
for a wide variety of shooting requirements. For hunters who trek far into the wilderness for their game, there is the 5 3/4 pound M77 Mark II
Compact; for those who confront the largest and most dangerous game, the deluxe Ruger Magnum rifle will fill the bill; and for long-range
target shooters, the heavy-barrel, supremely accurate Ruger M77 Mark II Target Model with target trigger is the rifle of choice.

When you choose a Ruger centerfire bolt action rifle, you have a wide range of options before you. All now have precision hammer-forged
barrels for superb accuracy, in lengths ranging from 16 1/2” for the Compact Rifle to 26” for the supremely accurate Target Rifle. Material

All exposed stainless steel components on Target Grey® models feature Ruger’s unique, corrosion resistant low-glare finish. In total, the M77
Mark II family includes over 100 top quality rifles to meet your exact needs.
The M77 Mark II rifle will also meet your need for a reliable, accurate and convenient scope mounting system. You will never have
to buy traditional separate scope mount bases, because M77 Mark II rifles are produced with Ruger’s patented integral scope mounting
system. Ruger scope rings attach directly to the receiver’s machined mounting surfaces, eliminating a potential source of looseness and
inaccuracy in the field. Ruger scope rings are included at no extra cost, a $60 value. No other American rifle maker offers this system, but
you get it with every Ruger bolt action rifle.
The New 204 Ruger is the most sensible of all the latest smallbore centerfire cartridges. This 32 grain, 20 caliber bullet offers an
amazing 4,225 feet per second muzzle velocity with a standard headsize case.

Two-thousand-two marked the debut of the Ruger Model 77/17 rifle. This rotary magazine bolt action rifle is chambered for the exciting
new 17 caliber Hornady Magnum Rimfire cartridge. The 17 HMR is a high-velocity performer that is the answer to a varmint hunter’s
prayers. The 17 HMR propels a 17-grain, 17 caliber high-performance jacketed synthetic-tip bullet at over 2,550 feet per second, more
than 25% faster than a 22 Magnum. This ultimately means a flatter trajectory and superior accuracy for the target range and for small
game hunting and, since it’s a rimfire, it’s quiet and economical to shoot.
Choose from three popular models of the Ruger 77/17 including blued with walnut or synthetic stock or the Target Grey® 77/17
Varmint Model with low glare stainless steel components and a black laminate stock. All Ruger 77/17 rifles incorporate a Ruger patented
nine round detachable rotary magazine and Ruger’s patented scope mounting system with integral scope bases and medium-height rings at
no extra charge.
Ruger has more 17 HMR options to choose from, including the Ruger 10/17 Autoloading Rifle (see page 21), the Ruger Model 96/17
Lever Action Rifle (see page 19), the Ruger New Model Single Six, and Ruger New Model Single Six Hunter Single Action revolvers
(see pages 36 & 37).

In 1983, Ruger responded to the many shooters who desired a high quality, adult-size 22 rimfire rifle, built to centerfire standards of
strength, accuracy, and aesthetics. The result was the Ruger Model 77/22 rotary magazine bolt action rifle. Unique among rimfire rifles, the
Model 77/22 incorporates Ruger’s patented detachable rotary magazine, plus the three-position safety of the centerfire Ruger M77 Mark II.
Elegant, innovative, and moderately priced, the 77/22 has brought a new level of quality and technical excellence to small-game hunting and
target shooting.
1990 marked the debut of the 22 Win. Magnum Rimfire version of the Ruger Model 77/22, followed in 1994 by a centerfire 22
Hornet version. The action design was so sound that in 1998, the Ruger Model 77/44 was introduced in the powerful 44 Magnum cartridge,
a proven brush and timber caliber for whitetail deer-sized game. All feature rugged and reliable Ruger detachable rotary magazines.
Like the larger M77 Mark II rifles, Ruger’s rotary magazine bolt action rifles offer you many choices: five calibers; American Walnut,
laminated hardwood, or synthetic stocks; and blued alloy steel or corrosion resistant stainless steel components.

Today, one name stands out far above the rest in the challenging sport of single shot marksmanship – the Ruger No. 1.
The No. 1 is the ultimate evolution of the single shot rifle. Its smooth, sculptured lines are reminiscent of the hand-made firearms
of a less hurried era. The breech mechanism is strong, simple, and compact, and is ideally suited to handle both today’s powerful cartridges and
the classics of yesteryear. The ejector mechanism, which can be adjusted to provide extraction only, is designed to provide maximum leverage at
the point where the ejector engages the cartridge case. The sliding shotgun-type tang safety provides instant visibility and accessibility.
The Ruger No. 1 is available in a wide variety of chamberings, from the exciting New 4, 225 fps 204 Ruger to the powerful 458 Lott
cartridge. Configurations range from Light Sporter to Varminter to Tropical and International. Whatever the caliber, the Ruger No. 1 is a rifle
attuned to the needs of a very special class of shooter…one who is confident in the ability to deliver the goods with one well-placed shot,
whether the target is a 400-yard X-ring or a charging Cape buffalo.

The speed you need... in r ifles that are r ug ged, reliable, and ready
For those seeking a rifle with Old West styling and the practical performance demanded on the American frontier, Ruger offers its Model 96
lever action rifles. Ruger lever action rifles are compact, rugged, and reliable, and offer quick follow-up shots when needed, with just a brief flick of
the wrist. The enclosed action design protects against dust, rain, or snow, making these lever actions dependable companions for the open range.
Ruger lever action rifles are designed to accommodate a low, centrally mounted scope for comfortable, instinctive, and accurate
shooting. On the 96/44, the patented Ruger scope-mounting system is manufactured integrally with the steel receiver, so that today’s advanced
optical sights can be solidly mounted. A pair of medium-height Ruger scope rings is included at no extra charge. The 17 HMR and 22 WMR
caliber lever action models feature a new scope base that accommodates either Weaver-style rings or standard tip-off mounts, so you can mount
the optical sight of your choice.
All Ruger Model 96’s feature a sliding cross-button safety and Ruger’s virtually indestructible, detachable rotary magazine, constructed
of high-impact polymer with stainless steel lips and ramps to guide the cartridge into the chamber. Ruger Model 96 magazines have a capacity
of four 44 Magnum cartridges and nine cartridges in either 22 Magnum or the new, high-velocity, flat shooting 17 HMR version.

Since the first Ruger 10/22® was introduced in 1964, over 4 million have been produced - making it one of the most successful rimfire carbines
ever offered. In order to celebrate the tremendous success of the Ruger 10/22 over the past 40 years, Sturm, Ruger is proud to offer three exciting
new models for 2004. The 10/22RB-40 is a special anniversary edition of the original 10/22 carbine and includes a unique nickel-silver medallion
inlaid into its hardwood stock. In addition to the standard black magazine included with all Ruger 10/22’s, each 40th Anniversary Ruger 10/22
carbine also includes a unique 40th Anniversary Edition clear magazine with a red rotor.
Also new for 2004, Ruger is introducing a rifle version of the 10/22. The 10/22RR Rifle features a slimmer stock, longer barrel, flat rifle
buttplate, ramp front sight, and no barrel band for a cleaner appearance. For the shooter who enjoys the feel of a quality rimfire rifle, the 10/22
Rifle is the choice for you.
Finally, Ruger is proud to introduce the 10/17 Rifle, chambered in the extremely popular, flat-shooting 17 HMR, which took the
shooting world by storm last year (see trajectory chart, page 13). The Ruger 10/17 Rifle features a solid steel receiver and integral scope mounts
like the popular 10/22 Magnum but incorporates the new 10/22 Rifle stock. It also has luxury sporting rifle details such as a 20 inch tapered barrel
and a centerfire band-type rifle front sight.

R uger offers you an outstanding choice of compact, lightweight, autoloading rifles and carbines in both rifle and pistol calibers. Each is
Ruger-reliable and will serve you well for many hunting seasons.
The Ruger Mini-14 rifle is chambered for the popular and proven 223 Rem. cartridge and has an adjustable rear sight. The
Mini-14 employs a simple, rugged version of the Garand breechbolt locking system, with a fixed-piston gas system and self-cleaning moving
gas cylinder. Since its introduction in 1974, the Mini-14 has proven itself many times over, in farm and ranch use, and in law enforcement
and security applications.
In 1982, Ruger introduced the Ruger Ranch Rifle, an updated Mini-14 with integral scope bases, a patented recoil buffer system,
and side ejection to clear a low-mounted scope sight. The Ruger Mini Thirty made its debut in 1986. Chambered for the widely accepted
7.62 x 39mm cartridge, the Mini Thirty has proven itself an ideal autoloader for deer-size game at medium ranges.
Chambered in 44 Magnum, the Ruger Deerfield Carbine is the result of over 40 years of continuous improvement. The Deerfield
Carbine employs a patented, flush mounted, 4-round detachable rotary magazine, perfectly adapted to rimmed cartridges. The Deerfield is
powerful, light, handy, and lives up to Ruger’s reputation for reliable service in the field. It’s the perfect deer rifle for the 21st century.

Lightweight and compact, the Ruger Carbine is a versatile firearm that fully accommodates the needs of sporting use, personal defense, and law
enforcement. Ruger engineers have combined 10/22 and P-Series features to create a reliable autoloading rifle that uses the same magazines and
ammunition as the Ruger P-Series pistols.
The Ruger Carbine has built-in safety features including a combination firing pin block and bolt lock. The firing pin and bolt lock is
deactivated only when the trigger is pulled. In addition, a manual cross-bolt safety is located at the rear of the trigger guard. For inspection and
cleaning, a slide stop locks the slide open.
Ruger has made full use of its expertise in precision manufacturing techniques and advanced synthetics to maximize the Carbine’s
performance and to keep it within your budget. The Ruger Carbine features a chrome-molybdenum steel barrel, receiver, slide and music-wire recoil
spring, and features a high-impact synthetic stock with a rubber buttpad. Integral scope mounts are part of the receiver design, and rear sights include
either open or Ghost Ring options.

Ruger introduced its first muzzleloading rifle in 1997 to satisfy those hunters who enjoy the challenge of this traditional black powder single shot
sport but want the advantages offered by modern designs.
The Ruger Model 77/50 in-line muzzleloading rifle is an advanced black powder bolt action single shot design offering significant
advantages over traditional side-hammer percussion rifles. The flame path from the cap through the one-piece stainless steel nipple/breech plug is
short and direct, providing quick, reliable ignition of the powder charge. The coil-spring bolt action mechanism produces a very fast lock time, with
less chance to disturb the aim than side-hammer muzzleloaders. The 77/50’s bolt can be drawn back two full inches, allowing ample access to the
nipple for capping or decapping. And, an accessory nipple is available for large musket caps, providing a hotter primer flash for more positive ignition.
Like its centerfire counterparts, the Ruger 77/50 incorporates a three-position manual safety, permitting loading, unloading, capping and
decapping with the safety in the “on” position. In addition, the patented Ruger scope-mounting system is manufactured integrally with the steel
receiver, so modern optical sights can be securely mounted.
1” medium-height scope rings, breech plug wrench, breech plug wrench handle, and cleaning tube included with all Ruger 77/50 models.

The Ruger P-Series pistols, introduced in 1987, were the first firearms produced at Sturm, Ruger’s Prescott, Arizona plant. Designed by practical
shooters, they were the result of a long development program to build quality centerfire pistols, offering unmatched reliability under adverse conditions.
Over the years, the P-Series pistols have been used extensively by outdoorsmen, action target shooters, and in law enforcement and government
applications worldwide, and have earned a solid reputation for rugged reliability. They continue to be, unquestionably, some of the most durable
centerfire pistols available.
Each metal-frame P-Series pistol is made of hard-coated A356T aircraft-quality aluminum alloy, Ruger’s proprietary Terhune Anticorro
stainless steel slides (chrome-molybdenum steel in blued models), and nearly indestructible polycarbonate grip panels. Ruger P95 and P97 polymer
pistol frames are made of a custom compounded polymer with long-strand fiberglass filler that is a natural shock absorber.
Ruger pistols are designed to be easily maintained. P-Series pistols are easily field-stripped into five major subassemblies for cleaning,
without the need for special tools. Ruger offers a wide choice of ambidextrous variations on the proven P-Series double action design in 9mm,
40 S&W and 45 Auto.
A lifelong firearms enthusiast and collector, Sturm, Ruger President Steve Sanetti has been
with the Company since 1980. He was a 3-year rifle team varsity letter winner at the Virginia
Ruger P94 Pistol • KP94 Military Institute, and was President of VMI’s Rifle and Pistol Club. More recently, he was
captain of the Ruger pistol team, its Sportsman’s Team Challenge squad, and the Company’s
D e s i g n e d b y s h o o te r s Shooting Industry Masters Team. His first pistol was a Ruger, and when competing he uses
only Ruger firearms. He is also an NRA-certified Firearms Safety Instructor, and enjoys
f o r s h o o te r s recreational shooting with his family.

In 1946, William B. Ruger applied for a patent on an entirely new 22 pistol design. It was elegantly simple, and featured an internal cylindrical
bolt rather than the traditional moving slide construction. Its smoothly contoured and comfortably angled grip frame was fabricated from
sturdy steel components. The barrel and receiver served as a solid, one-piece base for the sights, for permanent alignment and a consistently
higher accuracy potential than conventional designs with moving slides and sights.
The Ruger 22 pistol has more than proven itself since its introduction over a half century ago. The original Ruger 22 pistol was
appropriately named the Ruger Standard Model because today it is the standard by which all others are judged. The Mark II Standard
Model is perfect for small-game hunting, plinking, or training.
The Ruger Mark II Target Model is chosen overwhelmingly for target competition. Today’s Ruger 22 pistols are the result of an
ongoing program of product improvement since the first Ruger Standard 22 pistol came off the line in 1949. Beginning in 2004, all adjustable
sight 22 pistols come drilled and tapped for an included Weaver-type scope base adapter that readily accepts today’s preferred optical sights.

In 1951, the Ruger Mark I Target Pistol was introduced with an adjustable rear sight and a 6 7/8” barrel. In 1982, Ruger introduced the Mark II
22 pistol. Its most noticeable improvements included a bolt stop thumbpiece on the left side of the frame and shallow indentations on the rear of
the frame for a better grip on the bolt. The magazine capacity was increased to ten rounds, and the safety was redesigned so the bolt can be
manually operated while the safety is in the “on” position. In 1992, Ruger introduced the 22/45 pistol featuring a fiberglass-reinforced polymer
grip frame and a push-button magazine release, virtually replicating the feel of the 1911 Model 45 ACP pistol.
Today, with over 3 million sold, Ruger offers a wide range of 22 pistols – in Standard and Target models, six different barrel lengths, fixed or
adjustable rear sights, five different barrel configurations, and a choice of blued alloy steel, stainless steel or polymer frames - all direct descendants of
Ruger’s first 22 caliber pistol. New for 2004, all adjustable sight Ruger 22 pistols are drilled and tapped for an included scope base adapter to allow
for easy mounting of today’s optical sights.

For well over a century, the single action revolver has earned its place as both a working tool and a treasured icon of the American West. At
the outset of World War II, however, single action revolver production was halted and was not resumed after the war. The 1950s saw a tremendous
demand for this historic firearm, due largely to the popularity of Western-themed epics and the desirable features of these guns for knowledgeable
shooters. It was in 1953 that Ruger accepted the challenge of meeting this demand with the introduction of the Ruger Single Six 22 caliber revolver,
and later, the Blackhawk and Super Blackhawk centerfire revolvers. While totally traditional in outward appearance, these single actions incorporated
technological and metallurgical advancements that placed them a quantum leap beyond their predecessors in strength, accuracy and reliability.
All current Ruger rimfire and centerfire single action revolvers, including the
32 New Bearcat and Bisley, use patented Ruger transfer-bar mechanisms.*
The top choice of Rob Zimmerman is a Manufacturing Engineer in Sturm, Ruger’s
Newport operation. Known by his handle “Rusty Marlin,” this is Rob’s
s i n g l e a c t i o n s h o o te r s third season of Cowboy Action Shooting competition. Rob was New
Hampshire State Champion in 2001 and 2003 and Maine State Top Gun
in 2002. The Ruger Vaquero is his choice.

Introduced in 1953, Ruger’s pioneering Single Six 22 caliber revolver had the familiar look and wonderful feel and balance of the traditional
Old West single action. Five decades later, the New Model Single Six continues to offer outstanding performance and classic styling. Among
the New Model Single Six’s descendants are the Ruger New Bearcat, Bisley, and Old Army models…all combining outstanding good looks
with significant mechanical refinements.
The New Bearcat fulfills the ideal of a smaller “kit gun”-style 22 caliber single action revolver, a favorite of hikers and campers. Its
styling and one-piece frame are reminiscent of the old Remington Civil War-era revolvers. The unfluted cylinder displays a roll mark with a
bear and cougar design. It is now available in corrosion-resistant stainless steel to meet the demands of the trail.
The Ruger Bisley is immediately recognizable by its distinctive Ruger-designed grip style, for added shooting comfort with powerful
cartridges. The hammer and trigger are also gracefully curved for the needs of the target shooter. The Ruger Bisley is chambered for popular
target and hunting calibers from 22 to 45.
A consistent winner at blackpowder matches, the Ruger Old Army 45 caliber cap-and-ball revolver is now available with a choice
of 5-1/2” or 7-1/2” barrel, blued alloy or stainless steel, and fixed or adjustable sights. It’s easily disassembled without special tools, making
blackpowder clean-up far quicker and easier, especially in its stainless steel version, another Ruger first.

Since its introduction in 1979, the Redhawk name has been the definition of powerful double action revolvers. Designed specifically to
handle the powerful 44 Magnum cartridge, the Redhawk pioneered the patented Ruger “single-spring” mechanism for both hammer and
trigger. Ruger also patented a mechanism to positively lock the cylinder into the frame at the front, rear, and bottom of the cylinder for
positive alignment and increased strength.
The Super Redhawk features an extended frame designed for scope mounts, longer barrel threads, cushioned grip panels, and a
number of improved mechanical features. Both Redhawk and Super Redhawk are unmatched for strength and rugged reliability.
Ruger double action revolvers are the top choice among shooters that shoot frequently for one simple reason: reliability. Both Redhawk
and Super Redhawk designs emphasize extra metal in the top strap and in the critical areas below and surrounding the barrel threads. With no
side-plate, both sidewalls serve as integral parts of the frame for maximum strength and rigidity. More than just big revolvers, these are strong
revolvers…easily withstanding the stresses imposed by the most powerful new handgun calibers.
The massive Super Redhawk, in 480 Ruger and 454 Casull, is ideal for meeting the challenge of using a revolver to hunt big game.
The six-shot cylinder capacity adds an extra measure of confidence. These potent revolvers are also popular among metallic silhouette shooters.
The 454 also accepts 45 Colt cartridges. The new 480 Ruger cartridge offers approximately one-third more energy than the powerful 44
Magnum. It can stop big game reliably at typical handgun distances, with less recoil than the mighty 454 Casull.

Ruger GP-100 Series double action revolvers and their smaller-framed counterparts, the SP101 Series, offer an array of sophisticated
design features that make traditional revolvers obsolete.
Strength, simplicity, and ease of maintenance are keys to their design. The cylinder is triple-locked by latches at the rear and bottom of
the cylinder and at the front of the crane by a locking bar that engages a matching slot in the frame. Frame widths are increased in critical areas
that support the barrel; both sidewalls are solid, integral sections of the frame, with no removable side-plates to compromise the frame’s integrity.
While some may say that Ruger double action revolvers are over-built, we say that only the strongest revolvers get to bear the Ruger name.
Ruger revolvers are built to perform reliably, shot after shot.
Because these revolvers consist of a group of integrated subassemblies, takedown for cleaning is quick and simple, requiring no
special tools. The grip portion of the frame is a post onto which standard or custom grips in a variety of sizes, shapes and materials can be
fitted. Ruger’s unique cushioned grips provide comfort, with no exposed metal to impact the shooter’s hand during recoil.
