Cooling loadisthesumofsensible and latent heat gains, fresh heat gain, supply fan power heat gain, supply duct heat gain, return air fan power heat gain, return air duct gain. Whenusingwaterchillersasmallallowanceforpumppowerandheatgainstochilledwaterpipesisadded,thisallowance maybe1%to2%. Whenusingfancoilunitsfanpowermaybeadded. Thereturnairductgainsareusuallynegligible. ThesensibleandlatentheatgainsaredealtwithinHeatGainsnotesintheAirConditioningsection. ThelargestCooling loadusuallyoccursat15.00hoursinJuly. Another way to find the total chiller output is to add the output of all chilled water cooling coils together. Theheatgainsmaybederivedfromapsychrometricchartasshownbelow.
