March 17, 2013 Volume 3, Issue 11

The church with heart in the heart of the city.

Just Around The Corner...

Dear Church Family, WLBC has been very blessed this year financially, even despite the tough economic times we are experiencing. The Endowment Committee would like to send out this general notice that the Endowment Fund saw growth in 2012 and as a result there are monies available for use in supporting various missions endeavors. If you would like to submit a request to the committee to solicit support from the fund for a missions trip or project, please contact the church office for the application and we will gladly review it. Thank you for your continued support for the Endowment Fund program! The Endowment Committee

Andy Ott will be leading a workshop on Saturday, March 23 ...to help WLBC understand our unique giftedness, and determine a strategic focus that will maximize our resources for global and local missions impact. The workshop employs a variety of media and interaction to help us customize our missions focus based on who we are as a local body of believers. We will begin @ 8am & finish around 1pm. (The Mens Prayer Breakfast has been canceled for March.) A healthy breakfast and snacks will be furnished. Please begin praying about this workshop, and WLBCs role in fulfilling the Great Commission.

Dont Miss Your Chance to Bless and Be Blessed...The Needs are Many WLBC Praying for HINDU PEOPLES OF MYNMAR. A worker named R went back to the village area where his family is from to work with the new believers there. While he was there, he met a new family. This family then went back to their town and shared what they had heard with others. Now this family and two others have let R know that they want to know more about following Jesus. Praise the Lord for these three families. Pray that R (or others from his village) will be able to teach them what it means to be a true disciple.

Many times we are asked, Who is my deacon? To help you, we will list the Deacon of the Week and his list of families in the WLBC Bulletin ENewsletter. There will be a complete list posted on the bulletin board near the church office. This complete list is alphabetical by your last name. We hope this will help you know who your deacon is for the year. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the church office.

Bible Quiz
Just before the Last Supper (John 13), Jesus took off his outer robe, poured water into a basin and began washing his disciples feet. One disciple, however, protested having the Lord wash his feet. Jesus told the reluctant man that unless he allowed Jesus to wash his feet, he really had no share in Christs leadership. The disciple then relented. He said Jesus could wash not only his feet but his hands and head, as well. Choose the name of this disciple from the list below: A. Peter; B. John; C. Andrew; D. Judas (See John 13:1-9.)

Sink or Swim When a boat started sinking, the skipper shouted, Does anybody know how to pray? One man confidently answered, Yes, I do. The captain nodded. Thats good then, he said. You go ahead and pray. The rest of us will put on life jackets. Were one short.
The Knight Family is no longer on the foreign mission field. They are home in Lynchburg.

On mission to reach people for the family of God.
