Process control focuses on keeping the process operating at a level that can meet quality objectives, while accounting for random variations over which there is no control. There are two main aspects to process control: control charts and capability analysis. Control charts are designed to ascertain the statistical stability of the process and to detect changes in its level or variability that are due to assignable causes and can be corrected. Capability analysis considers the ability of the process to meet quality objectives as implied by the product specifications. Process-control techniques were originally developed for manufactured goods, but they can be applied to a variety of situations as long as the statistical distribution of the characteristics of interest can be approximated by the normal distribution. In other cases, the principles still apply, but the formula may need to be modified to reflect the specific mathematical expression of the probability distribution functions. See Process control Acceptance sampling refers to the procedures used to decide whether or not to accept product lots or batches based on the results of the inspection of samples drawn from the lots. Acceptance sampling techniques were originally developed for use by customers of manufactured products while inspecting lots delivered by their suppliers. These techniques are particularly well suited to situations where a decision on the quality level of product lots and their subsequent disposition needs to be made, but it is not economic or feasible to inspect the entire production output.
2 ) Are only the technical personal able to define the quality standards of the enterprise?
Of course , NO Certification to management system standards is not a requirement. Organizations benefit from implementing these standards without having to be certified to them. In addition, some management system standards are guidelines and cannot be certified to, such as ISO 26000. However, many organizations do decide to get certified to one or more of ISOs management system standards. In order to do this they must contact an external certification body as ISO itself does not perform certification. Certification (third party conformity assessment) is not the only way to show conformity to management system standards. Alternatives include inviting the organization's customers to verify its implementation of the management system standard (second party assessment) or to self declare its conformity (first party assessment)
3 ) What's the role of the managers of the enterprise in Control Quality Management?
Total Quality Management or TQM creates a strategic focus across an entire organization on continuous improvement based on customer needs. Beginning in the 1980s and reaching its greatest popularity in the 1990s, TQM served as a predecessor to Quality Management and Six Sigma initiatives. To succeed in changing corporate culture by applying TQM requires management involvement and support.
Instigator
Initiating a TQM program with its associated costs and cultural change requires commitment from senior managers. Before beginning a TQM program, executives from corporate and division management need training in core TQM techniques and access to data that demonstrate the productivity and cost benefit of the approach. Following training, senior management should appoint a TQM manager or instigator to develop an implementation strategy and work with human resources to create employee training programs. Select a manager with the ability to command resources and with direct and frequent access to senior management.
Facilitator
The TQM manager needs to create a team of line managers knowledgeable about TQM to support and communicate the core principles and behaviors expected in a TQM-based organization. The facilitators assist in acquiring resources, making time available for training, and recognizing and rewarding individual employees for their quality efforts and continuous improvement ideas. It is the job of the line managers to facilitate adoption of TQM in their areas and remove barriers to implementation.
Trainer
Using managers to train employees in TQM, rather than using outside consultants or human resource trainers, communicates the perceived importance of TQM to the company. Being required to teach TQM leads to greater competence in the management staff, because they must understand the approach and techniques to teach them to employees. If managers cannot teach the entire TQM course, they should reinforce the importance of each training class by introducing the training and restating executive commitment to the process. Managers should present TQM-based planning and results during routine staff meetings and individual performance reviews.
Role Model
Managers must practice TQM, in addition to preaching it, by using data collection and planning tools such as flow charts, cause-and-effect diagrams, Pareto and control charts. Use customer preference data to drive decision-making. Provide frequent reports to staff and senior management highlighting continuous improvement in key performance indicators.
