Carbon (Reflection)

From reading this article, I can said that carbon is very common in everyday life. Living things contain carbon in it even human! I really enjoy reading this article from Wikipedia. Even though this article is very short and simple but every word is trustable and it is very useful information for studying now and in the future.

pH Scale

The pH scale measures how acidic or basic a substance is. The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14. A pH of 7 is neutral. A pH less than 7 is acidic. A pH greater than 7 is basic. The pH scale is logarithmic and as a result, each whole pH value below 7 is ten times more acidic than the next higher value. For example, pH 4 is ten times more acidic than pH 5 and 100 times (10 times 10) more acidic than pH 6. The same holds true for pH values above 7, each of which is ten times more alkaline (another way to say basic) than the next lower whole value. For example, pH 10 is ten times more alkaline than pH 9 and 100 times (10 times 10) more alkaline than pH 8. Elmhurst.edu

pH Scale (Reflection)
I really enjoy reading this article because it is very simple and it is also very easy to understand. This article helps me understand clearly about the pH scale. At first I dont really understand what pH scale is but now I already understand it with the help of this article. I also able to understand that alkaline is another way to say the word basic.

Fire Safety

Fire safety refers to precautions that are taken to prevent or reduce the likelihood of a fire that may result in death, injury, or property damage, alert those in a structure to the presence of an uncontrolled fire in the event one occurs, better enable those threatened by a fire to survive in and evacuate from affected areas, or to reduce the damage caused by a fire. Fire safety measures include those that are planned during the construction of a building or implemented in structures that are already standing, and those that are taught to occupants of the building.

Fire Safety (Reflection)

Fire safety helps you in many ways. It helps you prevent the death, the injury, and the property damage. If you follow all the rules, then the fire will hardly started. If you really plan the way, the emergency exit and plan. It may save your life from harm and danger. This article explains about what fire safety is. What the fire can do to us. And so many more things. I can say that this article is useful for fire safety explanation.

Mass

In everyday usage, mass is referred to as "weight", the units of which may be pounds or kilograms (for instance, a person's weight may be stated as 75 kg). In scientific use, however, the term "weight" refers to a different, yet related, property of matter. Weight is the gravitational force acting on a given body which differs depending on the gravitational pull of the opposing body while mass is an intrinsic property of that body that never changes. In other words, an object's weight depends on its environment, while its mass does not. On the surface of the Earth, an object with a mass of 50 kilograms weighs 491 newtons; on the surface of the Moon, the same object still has a mass of 50 kilograms but weighs only 81.5 newtons. - Wikipedia

Mass (Reflection)
From reading this article, I get the idea that mass isnt actually a weigh. It is indeed an intrinsic property of that body that never changes. It doesnt change like weigh. I also enjoy reading this article as it gives me the knowledge of how the weigh and the mass are different.

Density

The mass density or density of a material is its mass per unit volume. The symbol most often used for density is (the lower case Greek letter rho). Mathematically, density is defined as mass divided by volume: Where is the density, m is the mass, and V is the volume. In some cases (for instance, in the United States oil and gas industry), density is also defined as its weight per unit volume, although this quantity is more properly called specific. Different materials usually have different densities, so density is an important concept regarding buoyancy, purity and packaging. Osmium and iridium are the densest known elements at standard conditions for temperature and pressure but not the densest materials. Less dense fluids float on more dense fluids if they do not mix. This concept can be extended, with some care, to less dense solids floating on more dense fluids. If the average density (including any air below the waterline) of an object is less than water it will float in water and if it is more than water's it will sink in water. - Wikipedia

Density (Reflection)
This article helps me to know more about what density is. It also helps me to know the formula to find the density of each object. Density also involves Archimedes which I like him so much because he is so clever and smart. Density involves mass and volume of the object to find its density.

International System of Units

The International System of units (SI) From French: Le Systme international d'units is the modern form of the metric system. It comprises a coherent system of units of measurement built around seven base units, 22 named and an indeterminate number of unnamed coherent derived units, and a set of prefixes that act as decimal-based multipliers. The standards, published in 1960, are based on the meter-kilogramsecond system, rather than the centimeter system, which, in turn, had several variants. The SI has been declared to be an evolving system; thus prefixes and units are created and unit definitions are modified through international agreement as the technology of measurement progresses, and as the precision of measurements improve. SI is the world's most widely used system of measurement, used in both everyday commerce and science. - Wikipedia

International System of Units (Reflection)

This article is about the international system of units or SI. The reason that they called it SI instead of IS is because it is the French word called Le Systme international d'units. As you can see that the word system comes first so thats why they called it SI not IS. This article also tells me that this system of unit is used worldwide even today. It is use in both commerce and science.

Chemistry

Chemistry, a branch of physical science, is the study of the composition, properties and behavior of matter. Chemistry is concerned with atoms and their interactions with other atoms, and particularly with the properties of chemical bonds. Chemistry is also concerned with the interactions between atoms (or groups of atoms) and various forms of energy (e.g. photochemical reactions, changes in phases of matter, separation of mixtures, properties of polymers, etc.). Chemistry is sometimes called "the central science" because it connects physics with other natural sciences such as geology and biology. Chemistry is a branch of physical science but distinct from physics. - Wikipedia

Chemistry (Reflection)
I think that this article helps me to know more about chemistry and what it is. This is actually the part of the physical science subject that Im studying right now in grade 8 this year. It also gives me the idea overall of the subject and what will it deal with or what I will deal with in the rest of the school year.

Introduction
This portfolio consists of many assignments and worksheets that I, Bhume Sudsawad keep it all together. In this quarter, the worksheets in this portfolio may not be included much as I dont have that many worksheets to put in. I will try my best to show you of the learning progress in what I have done in this second quarter and hope that the reader or the teacher will understand what Im doing for the past few months in this quarter. This portfolio contains more on the article that I found it useful from the internet. I summarize and tell the reflection of what I have found for the reader to read and found that it is easy to understand.
