Introduction

ATMdesk/Plus is a value-added feature to ATMdesk/Field that allows to run ATMdesk diagnostic on an ATM where PC Core is not working or cannot be booted for any reason. It also allows to occasionally run ATMdesk/Repair in a workshop. ATMdesk/Plus is effectively ATMdesk/Repair installed on a desktop or laptop PC and authorized using your existing ATMdesk/Field licenses and keys. Please refer to ATMdesk/Repair Installation Manual for details specific to ATMdesk/Repair usage. Please refer to ATMdesk/Field Setup and Handling Manual for details specific to ATMdesk/Field license system.

System Requirements

ATMdesk/Plus uses ATMdesk/Repair software running on a separate Windowsbased PC or Laptop. Please refer to ATMdesk/Repair Installation Manual for detailed system requirements.

1.2

ATMdesk/Plus Adapter and ATM Device Connection

An ATMdesk/Plus (USB-SDC Adapter) is supplied with ATMdesk/Plus. This adapter is required to connect PC running ATMdesk/Repair to the ATMs SDC bus.

The PC Running ATMdesk/Repair needs access to the ATMs devices: For SDC devices, the ATMdesk/Plus Adapter should be attached to ATMs SDC bus; use a free connector on the bus or temporarily disconnect one of ATMs devices and connect instead. For Serial devices, connect them directly to PCs COM port(s). Should there are no COM ports available, use a USB-to-Serial adapter (not supplied). Page 5 of 9

For USB devices, connect them directly to PCs USB port(s). Should there are not enough USB ports, use an external USB hub (not supplied). Please note that ATMdesk/Plus adapter must be connected to the PC at all times, even when testing only USB or Serial ATM devices. Please note that when ATMdesk/Plus adapter is connected to the ATMs SDC bus, the bus must be disconnected from ATMs PC Core SSPB adapter.

Key Devices and Authorization

ATMdesk/Plus requires authorization upon start-up. This is achieved using a Key Device, which can be one of the following: Smart Card Key. When prompted, the Smart Card Key should be inserted into PCs Smart Card Reader (not supplied). NOTE: Smart Card Reader must be purchased separately; there is a variety of USB Smart Card Readers available on the market. USB Key. When prompted, the Key should be inserted into PCs USB port. NOTE: USB Key cannot be inserted in PCs PS/2 port even if it is free; PS/2 ports are used exclusively by Windows Operating System for keyboards and mice.

Please note that unlike running ATMdesk/Field the Key Device should be inserted into the PC / Laptop running ATMdesk/Repair, not into ATMs PC Core.

Please follow ATMdesk/Repair Installation Manual to download and install ATMdesk/Repair software on a PC. Please note that minimum required version is ATMdesk/Repair 7.5.
