B. Subject Matter: Bonsai by Edith Tiempo (Strategy: Writing Workshop) C. Rationale Poems are one of the most prominent genres in Literature. Because of its minimal lines and words, rhythm, and its construction, it is one of the most creative genres in Literature. However, poems are not that comprehensible and not that attractive to some students because of its intentional ambiguity or vagueness. Hence, poems were not that appreciated by the students, and only a few does. Bonsai by Edith Tiempo is a poem about keeping and remembering memories of a persons whole lifetime. Students will easily relate themselves to the poem since the poem itself is a reflection of life. By using the said poem as their mentor or sample poem, the students will appreciate Literature more. The poem would provide them inspiration that would urge them to write their own poems too.
