Mom-Animals live everywhere on the earth. The place where an animal grow or is found is called it's habitat. Rohan-Habitat!what is habitat mom?

show different kinds of habitat in animation.

Mom-The five main habitats are forest, desert, polar region, ocean and freshwater. Rohan-How are these habitat different? Mom-Now I'll tell you in detail.

Rohan-which are the animals, who live in forest? Mom-Forest is a vast region covered with different kinds of trees and plants.it gives shelter to wild animals, insects and it also gives shelter to animals like hare, snake and rats. Deserts is a sandy dry region as it recieves very little rainfall.Animals found here have special features and thick skin, which help them to avoid water loss through sweating, while others hide in their burrows to escape. Rohan-wow!thats interesting and what about Polar region? Mom-As you know Polor region near the south and North poles. The north pole is called Antartica and north pole is called Artic. They are always covered with ice and snow. Rohan-So no animals are there in polor region? Lion,Tiger,Elephant,Deer,Fox are wild animals.

Show different kinds of animals of different region.

Desert animals are camel, scorpion, baandicoot,h edgehog and desert tortoise.

Polor region animals are Penguin, polor region, seal, walrus.

Mom-No,there are animals in polor region but they have special feature to cope with such cold weather.their bodies are covered with fur, thik layer of fat and they stay in groups to keep them warm. Rohan-Mom i know about Ocean, big fishes live in ocean. Mom-yes,but you know an ocean is saline(salty) water.it is the largest habitat on the Earth. The animals found here a well adapted to live in salty water. BODY COVERING In order to adjust to the different kind of invionment animals have different types of body covering. Rohan-Mom what are the different types of body covering ? Mom-The body of birds is primarily covered with feathers.which keep them warm and protects them from moisture, they also help them to fly. Rohan-Mom do every animal have different covering? Mom-Yes,Rohan animals do have different covering because our earth has

whale,dolphin,seal,sea-horse and octopus.

BODY COVERING

different kind of climate. Rohan-Mom tell me about other animals. Mom-Another type of covering is Fur.it helps to keep warm and protect them from rain and cold. Rohan-Mom fishes don't have fur how do they survive? Mom-They have a layer of dry and over lapping scale.these scale protect the underneath skin . Rohan-Mom,then animal with shell are safe because their shell is very hard and strong. Mom-shell not only protects them from heat, rain and cold.it also protects them from enemies.they draw their head and feet into the shell.

All organisms need food for their growth and developments.Feeding habits differ from animal to animal. Mom- Rohan there are three main classes in which animals can be classified on the bases of there eating habits.

Rohan-Mom what are these classes of animals. Mom-These areherbivores, carnivores and omnivores. Rohan-Mom can you define these classes?

.Herbivores are only plant

eaters. They have sharp front teeth called incisors for bitting and broad teeth called molars and premolars for chewing food.
. Carnivores are animals which feed on the flesh of other animals. They have sharp and pointed front teeth called canines that help them to tear flesh. They have strong molars for chewing the flesh and bones.

VO(BREATHING ORGANS IN ANIMALS)

Breathing is an important process for all living things.Oxygen is inhaled and Carbon dioxide is exhaled.Different animals have

different brething organs. Rohan-Mom how do the insects breath?

.Insects exchange the gases .Insects exchange the gases

through small openings on their body surface known as spiracles.

through small openings on their body surface known as spiracles.

.Gill is a breathing organ found

in almost all aquatic animals.Gills help these animals to absorb oxygen dissolved in water.

.Mammals breathe through

thier lungs.function of the lungs is to transport oxygen which is inhaled through the nose to the blood and to release carbon dioxide from the blood.

.Amphibians spend part of their

life under water and part of it on land.when young, these animals live in water and breathe through gills. As adults they breathe through lungs on land and moist skin in water.

(Movement in animals.)
Mom-plants and animals move fro place. This is known as locomotion.it helps them to obtain food shelter but also helps protect them from danger of predators or natural calamities.Different animals use different body parts to move.

Rohan-How do differrent animals move?

.Insects can move in various

ways.they can walk, jump, fly, hop or crawl.Butterfly and mosquitoes have one or two pairs of wings that help them to fly.Aquatic insects like backswimmer and water boatman use their hind legs to swim.

.Reptiles use various forms of

locomotion to move from place to place.some of them have legs and some use their scaly skin to move by crawling.A snake does not have legs.It uses scales present on the underside of it's body to move. Besides these,a strong muscular system and flexible backbone aid it in moving.

.Birds can hop or walk on

land, swim in water and fly in air.The forelimbs of a bird are modified in the form of wings that help them to fly.Emu and kiwi are called flightless birds because they have very heavy bodies and weak wings and cannot fly. Birds use their hindlimbs(or legs)to walk, run, catch prey and even attack their enemies. Rohan-Mom what are terrestrial animals? Mom-Terrestrial animals have two pairs of limbs. Most animals use four limbs to walk, run and for other movements.

Rohan-Mom how do the Aquatic animals move ? Mom-Aquatic animals use their webbed feet to swim in water, while they use their long hind legs to hop on land.Fish have fins to move in water. The tail fin helps them to change direction.

Mom-Rohan do you know that animals even migrate? Rohan-Why do they do so? Mom-Migration is defined as the movements of an animal from one region to another,in response to changes in wheather, habitat or availablity of food. Animals migrate because the conditions in their habitat become adverse to support life.weather becomes too cold or too hot,or the available food becomes scarce.animals also migrate because of natural calamities like earthquake, droughts or floods. Rohan-Do the bird even migrate? Mom-'Migration' is more closely associated with the movement of birds. Birds migrate twice in a year during spring and autumn. But only some birds migrate, not all.The birds that migrate are called migratory birds. The main reason behind their migration is to escape cold wheather conditions and to find food.

Rohan-Do they come back again? Mom-They come back to the original habitat each year. The Arctic tern nests near the north pole in summer and flies all the way to Antartica in antumn to escape harsh cold conditions. Rohan-Mom we do see buttertflies some seasons why? Mom-Insects,butterfliesand moths also migrate.A very common example is Monarch butterfly that Migrates from Canada to Mexico in water.
