Happy Easter to all Parishioners and Guests of St. Albert the Great

EASTER ENERGY On Easter morning when the disciples saw the evidence of the Resurrection, they did not at first grasp it. John reports that they did not yet understand the Scripture that he had to rise from the dead. We, on the other hand, have both scripture and church tradition to teach us. Jesus Christs resurrection is at the core of our Christian faith. All of todays readings tell us how compelling this event was for the first Christians. There is great energy in all the readings. Peter preaches with authority and conviction. Paul calls for Christians to change their lives. In the Gospel reading we see Peter and John in a footrace to reach Jesus tomb and see with their own eyes the evidence that they still could not understand or completely believe. How can some of this Easter energy be restored to us today? Do we let the astonishing news of the Resurrection touch us now? Does it call us to action? To deeper faith? To conversion? What new life will be reborn in us and our parish community this Easter morning? Copyright J. S. Paluch Co.

KNOW THE MASS, ONE WORD AT A TIME

The second part of the Mass is called the Liturgy of the Eucharist. The key action that runs throughout this part of the Mass is giving and receiving. During the preparation of the gifts, representatives of the community bring up water and wine and give them to the priest, who, in turn, offers or gives them in thanksgiving to God. Later, in the Eucharistic Prayer, Jesus gives us his body which we then receive in Holy Communion. Before Communion, we give and receive from each other and from God the gift and sign of peace. What happens in signs and sacrament at Mass reveals the whole direction of our lives in God. God so loved us that he gave us his Son. And the Son so loved us that he gives us himself. And what does God want of us? Only one thing: that we give ourselves back to him in love. That is the sum and substance, the very heart, of our worship at Mass and, indeed, of our entire lives in God.

PO WICEJ INFORMACJI PROSZE DZWONI NA NUMER: 708-423-0321 * * * * UJRZA I UWIERZY Ewangelia dnia dzisiejszego wyranie eksponuje dwa fakty: stwierdzenie przez w. Piotra i w. Jana, i grb, w ktrym zoono Ciao Jezusa z Nazaretu, jest pusty oraz przemian, jaka dokonaa si w apostoach pod wpywem tego, co zobaczyli. Obaj uczniowie uwierzyli w zmartwychwstanie Chrystusa i pojli zapowiedzi, e mia On powsta z martwych. Bardzo wymowne s tutaj sowa: Ujrza i uwierzy, odnoszce si wprost do w. Jana, a porednio do w. Piotra. O tej chwili oni, a wkrtce te pozostali apostoowie, stali si wiadkami Zmartwychwstania. Gosili, e Jezus yje i jest zwycizc nad grzechem i jego skutkiem, czyli mierci. Jan Pawe II, w Encyklice Dives in misericordia, przypomnia nam, e chrzecijanie winni gruntownie wnikn w misterium paschale (por. DiM 7). W znaku krzya i pustego grobu objawiona zostaa szczeglna potga mioci miosiernej Boga do ludzi, to, e Jego mio jest potniejsza ni grzech i mier. Pusty grb stanowi kocowy znak misji mesjaskiej, znak wieczcy caoksztat objawienia mioci miosiernej, w wiecie poddanym zu. () rwnoczenie znak zapowiadajcy niebo nowe i ziemi now (Ap 21,1) (DiM 8). DiM 13-15). ks. Waldemar Seremak pallotyn
