Dear Parents, First of all, we want to thank you for entrusting your kids to our care on a bi-weekly basis

at youth group. We truly love your kids and are humbled that the Lord would call us to love Him through serving this great group of students! Hopefully you have seen the fruit of the ministry of His Word, worship, prayer and fellowship at home, as we have seen it in your kids at youth group. We also want to thank you for your interest in our trip through the Coastlands and for taking the time to look through this packet along with your child. From the preparation meetings to the trip itself, we really view this as an incredible opportunity to pour into these students and encourage their spiritual growth. And please feel free to contact us with any questions at juniorhigh@realitycarp.com. Sincerely, Reality JHigh Staff

Our goal in taking Reality JHigh to the Coastlands for a mission trip is to provide a safe and controlled, yet fun and stretching experience for what will prove to be many of these kids very first mission trip. We understand biblically the call on the church to bring the good news, in word and deed, to all peoples, in all places. This trip will be a great step in that direction for our kids, as we prepare and go to Santa Barbara, Carpinteria, and Ventura to serve together. We anticipate our group will grow significantly and be stretched in ways that are uniquely provided by a trip of this nature, coming home with a greater passion for serving others, and preparing them for future involvement in global Kingdom work, particularly in their own communities! The trip will be a mixture of elements from traditional urban missions work, our camps, and Reality prayer tours. We plan on balancing service with prayer, ministry with Bible study, and the work of God with the worship of God. We will have our ministry teams each assigned a different portion of the Coastlands that they will cover in continual prayer in the weeks before, and during the entire trip. We are hoping to get a blend of studies from those ministry partners in our cities and our own JHigh leadership. We also will begin and end each day with prayer and worship, including a chance to reflect and debrief each night. Our activities will likely include

Praying for different areas, churches, schools, people, issues, and ministries onsite and with
insight throughout the Coastlands.

Service projects and outreaches partnering with local organisations and churches.
Possibilities include sorting food at a food bank, serving a meal at a Rescue Mission and/or local church, park clean-up and childrens outreach. A Bags of Love outreach where well put together lunch bags with socks, Bibles, and hygiene items to hand out to the homeless.

Fun activities provided throughout the Coastlands!
