Instructions for the Group Paper in Social Science I Working in groups of 5 (or 6) members each, look back to the

theories and concepts that you have learned in Social Science I. After doing so, think of a regional or national issue that the Philippines is facing now. Study and analyze this particular issue using concepts and theories that you have learned in class. The aim of this final paper is for you to apply your knowledge in explaining events or phenomena that you or other Filipinos are confronting. You are to present your analyses to the class in a brief (10-15 minutes) graded presentation scheduled in any of the following dates: March 14 (Monday) or March 17 (Thursday). A written 10-15 paged final paper should also be submitted on the date of the presentation. Criteria:

Important reminders: 1. An outline of your proposed topic must be submitted and approved before you can start doing your research for your group paper. In cases when two groups have the same topic, the group that submitted the outline first will be prioritized. 2. To avoid any delays, power point presentations should be submitted prior to the date of the presentation. 3. Plagiarized work will automatically garner zero points, and the group will be reported to the Student Disciplinary Tribunal for disciplinary actions. Plagiarism- the process of copying another person's idea or written work and claiming it as original. Hence, quotation marks should be used to indicate the exact words of an author. Also, each time you paraphrase another author, you will need to credit the source in the text. Take not of the provisions in the UP System Code (2006, p. 112) o Article 456. A student shall be subject to disciplinary action for any of the following acts: a. Any form of cheating in examinations or any act of dishonesty in relation to his/ her studies. o Article 463.
