3.10 INRODUCTION

FUNCTION: It is one of the leading Automobile Companies in Nigeria specializes in the distribution and service of a wide range of Vehicles and Buses.

3.20 PLANNING CRITERIA

1. CIRCULATION PATTERN: The circulation within and around the automobile workshop allow for free flow movement

II FLOOR PLAN: The floor plan concept is such that the administrative section is to the front while the workshop/service section is located in the rear

III FACILITIES AND SERVICES: The facilities provided include, work bay, repair shop, wash shed, tools and spare part store, heating and compressor room, conference room, conveniences reception and display/showroom.

IV HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL ORGANIZATION OF SPACE: The main organization of space in SCOA motor workshop is basically horizontal while the administrative area is both horizontal and vertical.

3.30 STRUCTURAL SYSTEM

The structural support system of SCOA motors lies within the use of portal frame structure in a modular form.

3.40 BUILDING MATERIAL AND CONSTRUCTION

Material used in SCOA motors are the steel portal frame as structural element , Aluminium cladding for the workshop wall while block wall is used in the administrative area, except for the faade where curtain wall is used. However, the roofing material is both concrete nigerite sheet and Aluminium sheet on the administrative building and the workshop respectively. Opening/glazing of SCOA mostly are fully opened and glazed to admit light and air into the building.

3.50 BUILDING SERVICES

The general installed devices of the electrical gadget and fittings such as air condition are evident within and around the SCOA motor administrative area. Moreover, there are evident of some mechanical gadgets and device that are notice during my visit and has the time of collecting data.

1. Good circulation pattern. 2. Well spaced and functional courtyard. 3. Well position administrative building. 4. Good position of exit and entry. 5. Well orientated building.

FUNCTION: It is one of the educative automobile workshop that engaged in training student of mechanical Engineering on the repair and service of a wide range of Vehicles .
