OBJECTIVE: I have in excess of 28 years Operations and Risk Management experience in the public and private sector. Most recently I have had the privilege of serving the good people of Ogden City as the Risk Management Coordinator and prior to that I served over 22 years with my friends at the Davis Applied Technology College (DATC). In addition to earning several certifications during my rarer at the DATC I continued university studies earning two business degrees and will soon acquire a Utah insurance adjuster license. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Ogden City Corporation December 2012 Present Risk Management Coordinator As a self-insured entity this position acted as the city insurance adjuster including; investigations, settlements, liability claims, subrogation and case management. Managed workplace injuries, Worker Compensation (WC) claims, third party administrators, light duty program and subsequent coordination with the Human Resource Department. Advised City Public Safety, Public and Management Services in risk aversion strategies. Successfully abated 21-city wide OSHA citations and initiated long term strategies to avoid future violations. Created a relationship with OSHA consultation for continued improvements. Reduced active WC claim files by 50% within the first 90 days of employment. Proposed a comprehensive City wide OSHA Safety Compliance Programs with Training Outlines for each, ensuring future employee safety and solidifying risk reduction strategies. Demonstrated effective analysis, decision making, task assignment and project management skills by managing over 50 successful projects within the last 3 years all on time and within budget. Applied & received 12 separate grants successfully fulfilling all requirements. Responsible for compliance of over 409,000 SQ Buildings, 2,877 separate infrastructure components for over 32 separate training programs and multiple occupancies and trades. Chaired the Campus Safety Committee & Crisis Intervention Team for 10 years facilitating a collaborative process for improving safety policies, accreditation, procedures and protocols. Introduced an integrated approach to safety creating a zero harm culture by enlisting management support, influencing peer professionals, training and assigning employees to participate affecting over 5000 individuals. Utilized Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for accident, system and failure analysis, continuous improvements, and change / risk management.
