ABSTRACT

The prevalence of CHD in the Internal Medicine Polyclinic Hospital Mohammad Hoesin Palembang in 2010 (Abdullah fikri, Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Sriwijaya, Januari, 54 halaman) Coronary heart disease (CHD) is the heart and blood vessel disease caused by narrowing of the coronary arteries. Narrowing of blood vessels occurs because the process of atherosclerosis or spasm, or a combination of both. Atherosclerosis is due to inflammatory processes that can be caused by a blood pressure suddenly increased, a history of DM, total cholesterol levels in the blood are high, and smoking history. CHD was diagnosed based on clinical, ECG, and results of laboratory tests. This study used a descriptive cross sectional study design. The research was conducted at the Installation Medical Record RSMH Palembang from January 2 to January 17, 2012. The study population was all patients with coronary heart disease in the Internal Medicine Polyclinic Hospital Mohammad Hoesin Palembang in 2010. Sample of 240 respondents were selected using proportional quota sampling technique. The variables of this study consisted of age, gender, hypercholesterolemia, history of diabetes mellitus, history of hypertension, the prevalence of CHD. The research data obtained from secondary data ie medical records of patients of coronary heart disease in the Polyclinic Hospital internal medicine Mohammad Hoesin Palembang in 2010. All data collected from medical records recorded in the checklist table and grouped according to the variables under study is then presented in the form of frequency tables and percentages described in the narrative. Furthermore, the data was carried out data analysis using SPSS 18 computer program. In this study, showed that the prevalence of CHD in the Internal Medicine Polyclinic RSMH Palembang in 2010 reached 12%. Age group 51-60 years age group is the most widely demonstrated clinical picture of CHD (36.3%). Male gender is more often suffer from CHD than women with a ratio of 58.8%: 41.2%. History of hypertension has a major effect on CHD (67.9%). Total cholesterol in the blood that affects the high incidence of CHD (56.7%). History of DM did not have a meaningful impact on the incidence of CHD (28.7%). CHD patients need to know that an unhealthy lifestyle habits can affect the severity of the clinical picture of CHD. Expected in future studies, performed using primary data from the results of examination of patients with CHD itself and use analytical research to calculate the magnitude of the relationship of a risk factor for CHD events.
