TRACE DSQ GC/MS

Features and Technical Specifications

Eliminates the Noise, Eliminates the Barriers

The TRACE DSQ GC/MS employs nextgeneration curved optics to eliminate performance-robbing neutral noise. Elimination of this background allows the chemist to employ the full dynamic range of the TRACE DSQ system improving detectivity, quantitation and spectral performance. At last, the benefits of fast chromatography and Large Volume Injections can be realized in your daily analysis, without the limitation of elevated backgrounds. Expand the capabilities of the standard TRACE DSQ EI system with powerful options, Chemical Ionization, solids probes, and simultaneous Full Scan/SIM for affordable answers to any analytical challenge. The TRACE DSQ combines the latest in hardware technology with the industry-leading Xcalibur instrument control and data handling platform. TRACE DSQ is the new benchmark for single quadrupole GC/MS systems.

Standard Installation Specifications

All evaluations performed using an Rtx5MS, 15 m x 0.25 mm ID (0.25 micron film thickness) fused silica capillary column. Electron Ionization Hot splitless injection of 1 L of a 1 pg/L standard of octafluoronaphthalene (OFN) in iso-octane will produce the following minimum signal to noise for m/z 272 when scanning from 200-300 amu at 5 scans per second: 25:1 (70 L/s pump); 50:1 (250 L/s pump); 50:1 (200/200 L/s pump). Positive Chemical Ionization Hot splitless injection of 1 L of a 10 pg/L standard of benzophenone in n-heptane will produce the following minimum signal to noise for m/z 183 when scanning from 80-230 amu at 2 scans per second with methane as the reagent gas: 10:1 (250 L/s pump); 10:1 (200/200 L/s pump). Negative Chemical Ionization Hot splitless injection of 1 L of a 1 pg/L standard of OFN in iso-octane will produce the following minimum signal to noise for m/z 272 when scanning from 200-300 amu at 5 scans per second with methane as the reagent gas: 500:1 (250 L/s pump); 500:1 (200/200 L/s pump).
