Prepared the environment for deployment of Windows Server 2003. Implemented and managed IP Addressing; configured TCP/IP addressing on a server. Custom server builds based on desired server utilization including various RAID configurations (i.e. RAID-1 for mirroring, RAID-5 for servers requiring performance). Designed, deployed and maintained the corporations test lab environment consisting of 120+ virtual machines hosted on VMwares ESX Server platform. Conducted a single sign-on proof-of-concept solution utilizing Microsoft technologies. Additional responsibilities included providing 24/7 technical support of daily operations in the primary data center for 250+ Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition servers; domain controllers, SQL Server 2000 and 2005 database and application servers.

Conducted a enterprise wide audit of network topology including network traffic analysis and bandwidth utilization, Active Directory structure and Group Policies, servers, services, open ports, firewall configuration, missing security patches, NTFS access control and network share permissions across three sites.

Published MTA-Long Island Bus Network Infrastructure document outlining results of network audit, along with remediation recommendations. These included available network services, organized by server, highlighting those services that were eligible to be disabled, core services of DHCP, DNS with a recommendation that these services be integrated into Active Directory while supporting dynamic updates, Novell Netware interoperability issues with a solution for automatically synchronizing NDS with Active Directory, an Active Directory Future Directions section to serve as a guide to implementing Group Policies and completing the migration to native mode from mixed mode. A Netware to Windows 2000 Server Migration Planning Guide was also included for future reference. SQL Server 2000: consolidation of multiple database/application servers and database instances. Assisted in the deployment of the Storage Area Network (SAN) solution employing EMC2 technologies. Custom server builds based on desired server utilization including various RAID configurations (i.e. RAID-1 for mirroring and data recovery, RAID-5 for performance application and database servers). IIS: several web applications, as well as network / server management tools were deployed. Designed, developed and deployed the organizations SharePoint Services server farm. Implemented several of the recommended solutions including the deployment of new domain controllers, integrating DNS into Active Directory with dynamic updating enabled, authorizing DHCP servers, SNMP foundation with trap destinations and community strings, and designing a fault tolerant and fail-over strategy. Provided other general recommendations with regards to backup and restore, disaster recovery, software packaging and distribution, and network resource monitoring and management. These recommendations included Veritas NetBackup to replace existing ArcServe Backup solution and SolarWinds Orion Network Performance Monitor. Preliminary design considerations with regards to Disaster Recovery Solution were fully documented and published. Recommended, designed and deployed software packaging and automated distribution solution using Microsofts Systems Management Server 2003. Upgraded (rebuilt) several key network servers from Compaq 3000 to HP ProLiant DL380 (4Gen). Configured RAID-5 arrays and mirrored volumes using SmartStart Essentials Software. Completed stalled Windows NT 4.0 to Windows 2000 Active Directory domain migration. Implemented several key domain security configurations using Group Policy feature of Active Directory.
