India is a land of rich spiritual heritage and cultural diversity which has captivated the attention of the entire world and Giri Trading Agency Private Limited is a corporate entity which is upholding this 5000 year old tradition of India. A vast area of 4500 square feet near the famous Kapaleeswarar temple, Mylapore, Chennai has a huge collection of materials needed for temple worship. It includes Indian music stored in all gadgets, religious books, publications, manuals, almanacs, jewellery and several other articles. Books, Hindu God Music Cassettes, Hindu God Music CDs, Pooja Items, Hindu God Tamil Magazine.

The growth of Giri Trading Agency has happened over 50 years with a humble beginning of a small store at Matunga Railway station in Mumbai in the year 1951. Late TVS Giri who is the founder of what turned out to be a concept, realized that he could not find a written manuscript of a Hindu mantra to gift a boy for his thread ceremony.

He thought that if he could source such printed materials he could sell them and he ventured into the business with a very small amount of Rs. 300 and even that was borrowed. He had a large family of 7 sons and 2 daughters to be supported and it took a lot of hard work and aggressiveness to build the business. He was ably supported by his wife Smt. Lakshmi Giri and children in the store and today it is a large enterprise run by a professional team consisting of family members and others. They have progressed with the times and have incorporated the latest trends in technological advancement to give a lot of value added services to their customers.

T S Ranganathan, the versatile Managing Director of the company and the youngest in the family gave credit to their phenomenal growth to the entire team which has made a dream come true. Our father was an enterprising individual who moved from Mumbai to Chennai in the mid seventies and set shop. One of the brothers, Late Iyappan was a very dynamic person who tried a lot of innovative ideas to move the business forward.

Today we have a team comprising our CEO, V Subramanian who is associated for more than 15 years with the day to day activities of the business and the COO our brother-in-law E Bala who is responsible for creating all the systems and processes. Our chairman T S Raghavan who had been the CMD of Indian Bank, IOB and other major banks is a torch bearer to the Giri ideology and all the brothers and sisters are in this business taking care of the various divisions. Our business strategies have evolved over the decades and now we have added a concept - ADDKIOSK- Anytime Digital Downloads Kiosk, from which music lovers can download songs of their choice. We have 13 showrooms and soon we want to have 50 all over the country and in other parts of the world.

The basic Giri philosophy has been deep rooted in the saying, Righteousness protects those who protect righteousness. With total dedication and commitment to their business the entire team is continuously expanding the empire founded by a visionary. Late TVS Giri successfully nurtured one spark of an idea and not only manifested it into a large establishment, but also built it on a strong foundation of principles and faith.
