Weather turns colder again; rain, snowfall predicted during next 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: Weather has turned colder again across the country while the Meteorological Department has predicted rain and snowfall during next two days in many areas.

A strong western system is affecting most parts of the country and likely to persist till Tuesday, Met office said and added this strong weather system is expected to generate heavy rains with snowfall over the hills in upper parts of the country.

Different parts of the country are in the grip of severe cold wave following rainfall in different cities ofPunjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan Monday.

Light rain started inIslamabadon Sunday afternoon which dropped the mercury down. Rain was also recorded in Lahore.

Muzaffarabad, Rawlakot, Bagh, Chakothi and Athmuqam remained under cloud cover on Sunday.Neelam ValleyandLipa Valleyreceived heavy snowfall and rain.

Weather remained partly cloudy inKarachiand Met office has predicted ligt rain in different parts of Sindh.

Snowfall has started at Koh-e-Salman and rain in Dera Ismail Khan, Charsadda and different areas ofUpper Dir, Hangu and Para Channar.

Rain and snowfall in these hilly areas have dropped the temperature to minus two to minus eight degree centigrade.

Cold has increased in Para Channar and its adjacent areas after fresh row of rains and snowfall while weather has turned cloudy in Mansehra, Batgram and nearby areas in Hazara Division.

Heavy rains have flooded many areas of upper Sindh including Larkana, Ghotki, Jackobabad, Khairpur, Sukkur, Pannu Aqil and neighboring areas.

Light rain started in many parts ofPunjabincludingSargodhaand Layya while heavy rains pooled water in other parts of Pun jab including Mandi Bahauddin, Pindi Bhatian and Attock.

Same situation has been witnessed in most parts of Balochistan and Pak-Afghan border areas including Gwadar, Chaman, Qila Abdullah, Gulistan, Pashin where new spell of rain has turned weather colder again.

Balocistan's chilled winds have started to reachKarachiand changing weather into colder once again.
