Native Youth Leadership Workshops These workshops will be hosted by elders from around the board, bringing together those youth who have declared they have aboriginal past. Smiths Falls is the host school for each session in the West part of the Board so those students attending come from Perth , Carleton Place, Almonte and such while the same thing goes on in the eastern part of the board. After each 1st day session all the students from East and West are brought to Kemptville for a unified Leadership Workshop day. The 2nd session days have started. We hosted last month on Feb. 16th and will again on April 16th. There are now over 20 Smiths Falls students who have self declared with their families although only 4 or 5 have found the confidence in this new part of their identity to take part in the workshops. Overall, though, the last session in Kemptville was attended by 28 youth from UCDSB and tomorrow March 27th, there will be over 40. Exams and Summative Evaluations Exams and Summative Evaluations are from Thursday June 20th through Wednesday June 26th, 2013. All students are expected to be available at school during the examination period for summative evaluations.
