Top 3 things learned: 1) Always create a separate box for color, and text so that you can align them more easily. 2) How to Place an image, and which tool crops the picture and which tool resizes it. 3) How to cut and paste text into a text box in Indesign. Process: I began by drawing four sketches. I then chose the one I was most proud of, and took that outline to Indesign. When in Indesign I created the colored boxes first. I then places text boxes within these colored boxes. After I was satisfied with the alignment, I placed the picture and the logo. I had two classmates, two lab assistants, and my professor critique my project. They instructed me to fix the alignment.I adjusted my alignment several times, but finally, I moved the grey box which was previously on the left, and that seemed to help quite a bit.

Date: 02/08/13 Programs/Tools Used: -Canon PowerShot Camera -Adobe Photoshop -Filter: Noise Top 3 things learned: 1) How to make a particular part of the image black and white or sepia toned. 2) How to refine the portion of the image I had selected. 3)I learned to never, ever move the light and dark bar because it really messes up your image. Process: I rented a camera from the library, found what I thought to be an interesting subject, took a picture, and loaded it on the computer. After I loaded it on the computer, I opened the image in Photoshop. First I re-sized the image. Then I selected the lamp and lightened it. After that, I opened the filters and added a little bit of noise to my picture. I moved the noise bar about 4 notches over. Then I opened up a new document in Photoshop and transported my picture into the document. Want to Learn: I would like to learn how to use layers, and how to Photoshop an image without it being detected.

Programs/Tools Used: Adobe Illustrator CS6 Top 3 things learned: 1) How to manipulate the draw tool. 2) How to make a triangle out of the star tool. 3) How to split the letters in a text into different groups so that I can manipulate each individual letter. Top Logo - Font #1 Name & Category: Kidprint, Decorative Top Logo - Font #2 Name & Category: Kidprint, Decorative Middle Logo - Font #1 Name & Category: Stencil, Decorative Middle Logo - Font #2 Name & Category: Stencil, Decorative Bottom Logo - Font #1 Name & Category: The font was in Chinese and I am unable to copy and paste the characters into WordPress. Decorative Bottom Logo - Font #2 Name & Category: Ditto How the logo represents the company: Hannahs Bananas is a fun company. When people look at my logo I want them to think of an island, or the summer...and, well, bananas. I want them to feel young and happy. I used yellow and brown because they are warm colors and theses colors are also on Bananas. Votes on favorite logo: Top Logo = _3__; Middle Logo = _2__; Bottom Logo = _7__; My favorite logo was ____The Middle Logo_____. Process: I sketched out three logos and then tried to bring my ideas together in Adobe Illustrator. I used the pen tool to sketch a couple of Bananas for my Logos. Then I placed text around my bananas. I spent the most time choosing the types of text. One I chose because it reminded me of the stamps they use on imported boxes. The others I chose because they looked island-y. After I chose my text I positioned them around the bananas to where I thought they looked the best. Then I grouped it together so that it would be one item that I had to drag and position.

Programs/Tools Used: Adobe Illustrator, In Design Top 3 things learned: 1) How to group separate parts to create a whole 2)How to Open up a document InDesign that was from Illustrator, 3) I learned how to duplicate an item and rotate it. Logo - Font #1 Name & Category: Lithos, Deorative Minion Pro, Old Style Logo - Font #2 Name & Category:

Stationery - Font #1 Name & Category: Lithos, Decorative Stationery - Font #2 Name & Category: Minion Pro, Old Style How the logo represents the company: My company is called animus. It is a company that discovers ecological ways to produce energy. It is the science behind the energy. My logo represents the company because of the flower it is based on. The flower is a symbol of the earth and yellow is a color that represents hope. Process: I brainstormed about what I wanted my company to be and how I wanted to represent it. I then made some sketches and then opened Illustrator to create my logo. I created a flower by using the Elipse tool and created an oval. I then opened the rotate tool, copied my flower petal, and then pressed control D to create it over and over again until it looked like a flower. After that I created a textbox and placed the name of my company on top of the flower. Then I opened 2 InDesign Documents and Started working on my business card and Stationary. I had the same basic idea for my stationary and buisness card. I placed my logo inside both documents, created contact information, played with text, and placement until I felt like it fit. The last thing I did to both documents was add a line going all the way across the business card.

1) The first big thing that I learned was that its actually possible to do crafty things on Microsoft Word. I thought it was for writing papers! I didnt know you could make text boxes, and import pictures and change the colors of the page. 2) I learned how to make a text box in Microsoft Word, and how to resize it and change the border color, and fill it with a different color. 3)I learned how to Import a picture Microsoft word and also how to scan a picture. Font #1 Name & Category: Monotype Corvisa, Script Font #2 Name & Category: Calibri, Sans Serif Scanned images used, sources, original sizes: I got the image from the Wall Street Journal Magazine. The original image was 8 x 11. I scanned it at 150 dpi, and edited some of the picture out. The image is now 958 1162. Process:I scanned the image and saved it onto a flash-drive so that I could work with it on my own computer. I then took the flash-drive home and began my project. I opened up a document of Microsoft word and created four texts boxes. Into one of the text boxes I imported the picture. I re-sized it to suit my purposes and added a drop shadow. After that I changed the background of the page to a light blue. I wanted all of my page to be blue so I had to change the background of the text boxes to blue as well.

Programs/Tools Used: Adobe Photoshop Top 3 things learned: 1) How to use masks to gradually bring a separate image into my original picture. 2) How to use layers, and manipulate them to do what I want. 3) How to add text to an image in photoshop Font #1 Name & Category: Times New Roman- Serif Font #2 Name & Category: Opus Chords Sans- Sans Sefif Process: 1. I located my images on the web. 2. I then opened the images on Photoshop, selected my silhouette and transported it into the sunrise. 3. There was some distortion around my silhouette that I took care of by creating a separate layer and placing a mask over the bad parts. 4. I faded my silhouette with the paintbrush. 5. Then I searched for a quote and added it into my picture.
