MARCH 9, 2013 JOURNEY TO THE PILGRIMAGE: Praying of the Rosary and prayer for safe travel
Joyful Mystery (Five Joyful Mysteries) Prayer for Safe Travel O God, You called Abraham Your servant out of Ur and kept him safe and sound in all his wanderings. If it is Your will, protect Your servants. Be for us a support when setting out, friendship along the way, a little shade from the sun, a mantle against cold and rain, a crutch on slippery paths, and a haven in shipwreck. Bear us up in fatigue, and defend us under attack. Under Your protection, let us fulfill the purpose for our trip and return safe and sound to our home. Our Lady of Good Voyage, Pray for us. Amen. 1ST STATION (Jesus National Shrine)

PRAYER LEADER: MR. JAN PAUL S. LUGTU

INTRODUCTION: A pilgrimage is a journey or search of great moral or spiritual significance. For Christians, typically, it is a journey to a shrine or other location of importance to our faith. A person who makes a pilgrimage is called a pilgrim. Thus, in many sense all of us are pilgrim here on earth. We still on the search of greatness true meaning of life and relationship with God. Historical background about the Church Opening Song: Jesus Na Aking Kapatid Opening Prayer L- God our Heavenly Father, we raise our minds and hearts to you in praise and thanks giving. Though weak and sinful, we wish to follow your only son, our Lord Jesus Christ, on the way of the cross. May your Holy Spirit help us in our journey. We ask the special aid of our Blessed Lady, Mary ever Virgin and Mother, in following Christ, and in making this pilgrimage our way of life. Amen.

Scriptural Reading Corinthians: 5:6-10 We are away from the Lord. So we are always courageous, although we know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yet we are courageous, and we would rather leave the body and go home to the Lord. Therefore, we aspire to please him, whether we are at home or away. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive recompense, according to what he did in the body, whether good or evil. REFLECTION: MR. RANDY G. QUENDAN Short Responsory L-God is the beginning and the end of life's pilgrimage. Let us call on him with confidence, saying: (R) Lord, be the companion of our journey. L- Father all-holy, of old you made yourself the guide and the way for your people as they wandered in the desert; be our protection as we begin this journey, so that we may return home again in safety. (R) L-You have given us your only Son to be our way to you; make us follow him faithfully and unswervingly. (R) L-You gave us Mary as the image and model for following Christ; grant that through her example we may live a new life. (R) L-You guide your pilgrim Church on earth through the Holy Spirit; may we seek you in all things and walk always in the way of your commandments. (R) L-You lead us along right and peaceful paths; grant that we may one day see you face to face in heaven. (R) CONCLUDING PRAYER All-powerful God, you always show mercy toward those who love you and you are never far away for those who seek you. Remain with your servants on this holy pilgrimage and guide their way in accord with your will. Shelter them with your protection by day, give them the light of your grace by night, and, as their companion on the journey, bring them to their destination in safety. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen. 2ND STATION (SAN AGUSTIN CHURCH) PRAYER LEADER: MR. CLEMENTE O. BOLECHE JR. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND OF THE CHURCH OPENING PRAYER L-The Lord is the source of all wisdom: come, let us adore him.

The saints who toiled from place to place, Spreading the Gospel of Gods grace, Now in their heavenly homeland dwell With Christ, whom here they served so well. Alert at thy command to go, And everywhere thy word to sow, They went, O Master, far and wide, Eager, but yet unsatisfied. Thine was the task they took in hand Thine their good news for every land, Thine was the power, and Thine again Their passion for the souls of men. SCRIPTURAL READING: Wisdom 1:1-5 Love, justice, you who judge the earth; think of the Lord in goodness, and seek him in integrity of heart; because he is found by those who test him not, and he manifests himself to those who do not disbelieve him. For perverse counsels separate a man from God, and his power, put to the proof, rebukes the foolhardy; because into a soul that plots evil wisdom enters not, nor dwells she in a body under debt of sin. For the holy spirit of discipline flees deceit and withdraws from senseless counsels; and when injustice occurs it is rebuked. REFLECTION: MRS. MA. CRISTINA S. SANTOS Intercessions L- Christ, the good shepherd, laid down his life for his sheep. Let us praise him with grateful hearts, as we pray: (R) Lord, nourish the lives of your people L- Christ our Lord, in the holy pastors you reveal your love for us; may we never be deprived of the care you show through then. (R). L- Through your sacred minister you are present in our midst as the shepherd of our souls; -never cease to guide us through their teaching and encouragement. (R). L- In the saints who lead your people, you manifest your power of healing souls and bodies; remain always with us to renew our lives in holiness(R). L- By the example of the saints you instruct your faithful in the ways of wisdom and love- through our pastors help us to grow to the full stature of perfection(R). Concluding Prayer Lord God, Who enlighten St. Augustine about your heavenly truth, Gives us grace, at his intercession, To maintain that same doctrine faithfully, And show it forth in the conduct of our lives. (We make our prayer) through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. Song: Panalangin Pagiging Bukas Palad
