Course Objective To impart the necessary broad knowledge in the piping engineering and make the mechanical/chemical engineers competent enough to take advantage of the exciting and highly rewarding career in Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical, Chemical industry etc. in India and abroad. Course Syllabus The course starts at basic level and gradually proceeds towards complex concepts of piping engineering. The course is designed to provide wide exposure in the field of piping engineering on areas such as piping design & layout, overview of international codes and standards, piping elements, valves, pipe stresses, stress analysis, jacketed piping, P & ID generation & updating, pipe sizing-design calculations, selection & specification, plot plan design, piping drawing, GAD, Computer aided analysis (CAE pipe), selection of supports, pipe rack design, process piping, nozzle reinforcement etc. More over the participants are given the opportunities to interact with distinguished experts in this field to get insights of the industry requirements. Eligibility Fresh or working Mechanical or Chemical engineering graduates are eligible to apply for this course. Diploma holders with considerable relevant experience and the final semester B.Tech / BE students (result awaiting/2013 pass out) from these/equivalent engineering streams can also apply.

Government Engineering College Barton Hill, established in the year 1999 under the Directorate of Technical Education, Govt. of Kerala is one of the fastest growing institutions of technical education. It is located in the heart of Thiruvananthapuram city, just one km from PMG junction and 3 kms from Central railway station and KSRTC bus station.
