Happy Spring Newcomers & Neighbors!! Let's hope the cold weather has passed so we can get out and enjoy our beautiful village...without a coat :)! I'd like to take this opportunity to announce that Andrea Hopkins-Green has graciously offered to be our President for next year's Newcomer season. I am SO thrilled because I know she'll be amazing. Thank you Andrea!!! Christen MacKenzie has also stepped up to become Social Chair. What a great team...thank you Christen!! We've certainly had a busy month and it's not slowing down. The Newcomers and Neighbors of Sewickley is here to help you get involved in the life of our community, meet new people and make Sewickley your home. We are a diverse group with varying interests and at various stages of our lives. Ladies meet once a month; September through May for fun and informative programs. There are many special interest groups that meet throughout the month. Our newsletter highlights a schedule of activities and details of meetings and programs each month.

Healthy Kids Day YMCA Saturday, April 26 11am-2pm

SAVE THE DATE!


Save the Date for the Spring Fling on Saturday, May 18! Held at the Hyeholde Restaurant from 7 to midnight, this event will be complimentary to members and include heavy hors doeuvres and entertainment. Keep an eye out in the next couple of weeks for an electronic save the date with more info and a hand delivered invitation. Helping Hands
Helping Hands provides meals to Sewickley neighbors who have recently experienced a stressful event in their lives, such as the birth of a child, serious illness, or loss of a loved one. To request assistance, or to volunteer preparing and delivering meals, please contact Laura Raposo, at 720-3359343 or alieyas@yahoo.com.

Couples Afternoon Out will be at Sidelines Beer House in Sewickley. April 20th 2 PM -4ish Tasting (of course we can all hang out after and talk about our favorite beers) $25 (plus tax) per person purchase tickets in advance at Sidelines in person or over the phone. 412 -741-0300 Ticket Includes: -Beer Expert talking about the style of each beer and the brewery while you sample -13 3 oz. Newcomers Playgroups (Babies, 3s & 4s) Trout Stocking on Little Sewickley Creek Monday, April 8th Sewickley Hunting and Fishing Club 4:00 PM Join us for some real hands-on fun The annual trout stocking expedition! Its a free event sponsored by the Sewickley Hunting& Fishing Club Meet at Walker Park, Shelter #3 at 4:00.

The original Sewickley mugs in 8 styles. Girls Night Out Join us on April 17th at Azul in Leetsdale for an evening of fun and meeting new friends. Bring a friend or two! Starts at 7pm. Please RSVP to SuzanneF04@aol.com

Serving Sewickley Family House thanks ALL of you for ALL the mini toiletries WE have given. Newcomer's and Neighbor's donated another 3 gallons for a total of 19 GALLONS since September. Please continue to travel and SAVE!!! They need MORE!!

this month. Membership dues have been used to help support the very successful Easter Egg Hunt in March hosted by Playgroups. As well used funds to purchase appetizers at the March Program and March Girls Night Out and paid for the bowling costs at our CouMonthly Program ples Night Out at Latitude 40. Thanks to the event organizers for continuing to provide us with great events and using our membership dues so well!

Membership
Newcomers is a busy group! With all sorts of groups and activities, sometimes it's hard to keep up with everything that's going on. But we can help! If you use any of the common calendar programs (Google Calendar, Outlook, or iCal), we can synch the Newcomers calendar to your existing program. No juggling necessary. And best of all, you'll never miss one of our great events again. Volunteers Needed
The OASIS youth after school program at the Sewickley Valley YMCA is looking for volunteers to help provide hearty healthy snacks for 15-20 students. Sign up for just one day, or become a regular volunteer! Volunteers will be reimbursed, but are asked to keep their food costs near $25. Detailed guidelines will be provided, but you are free to add your own ideas! If you would like further information, or are ready sign up, please contact Susan Kaminski at susankaminkipitt@gmail.com.

The Sewickley Tree Commission is currently seeking members!


This commission is a group of volunteers who make recommendations regarding the preservation, maintenance, planting, and removal of trees, shrubs, etc within the Sewickley Borough.
