Form: 2R/2A [ 6.45-8.05/8.05-8.45] MANAGEMENT & CONTINUITY OF LIFE The World through our senses Understanding & relate the sensory organs and their functions Understanding the sense of touch Understanding the sense of smell Understanding the sense of taste A student is able to: Identify and relate a sensory organ to its stimuli State the pathway from stimulus to respond Identify the structure for each organ and their functions. identify the structure of the nose, identify the position of the sensory cells in the detection of smell. identify the different areas of the tongue that respond to different taste, relate the sense of taste with the sense of smell. Carry out activities to make connection between the five senses, the sensory organs and the stimuli. Discuss what happens in our body after a stimulus is detected Carry out activities to study the following: a) structure of the human skin involved in stimuli detection, b) sensitivity of the skin at different parts of the body towards stimuli. Discuss the sensitivity of the skin in connection to the following situations: a) receiving an injection, b) using Braille. Discuss the structure of the nose and the position of the sensory cells using models, charts, computer software and other teaching aids. Carry out activities to detect the different areas of the tongue that respond to different tastes. Carry out activities to find how taste is related to smell.

Form: 3Z[10.25-11.35] MANAGEMENT AND CONTINUITY OF LIFE RESPIRATION 1.1 Analyzing the human breathing mechanism.

Learning outcomes

A student is able to: identify the structure of the human respiratory system, identify the structure of the lung, describe the process of inhalation and exhalation, describe the breathing mechanism. Observe the models or computer software to identify the structure of the human respiratory system which consists of the nasal cavity, trachea, bronchus, lungs, ribs, diaphragm and the intercostals muscles. Examine a model of a lung to identify the bronchus, bronchiole and alveolus. Build a functional model of the human respiratory system to show the relationship between the air pressure in the thoracic cavity and the exhalation. Discuss the breathing mechanism.

Pengenalan kepada Sains Learning objective 1.2 Memahami langkah-langkah dalam penyiasatan saintifik. Learning outcomes Murid boleh: Menyatakan langkah-langkah dalam penyiasatan saintifik/eksperimen; Menjalankan satu penyiasatan saintifik Learning activities Menjalankan penyiasatan saintifik/eksperimen, contoh: mengkaji faktor yang mempengaruhi bilangan ayunan bandul ringkas dalam satu jangka masa. Murid akan: a) Menentukan apa yang akan dikaji (mengenal pasti masalah); b) Membuat tekaan yang bijak (membina satu hipotesis); c) Merancang bagaimana untuk menguji hipotesis (merancang eksperimen); Mengenal pasti pemboleh ubah, Menetukan radas dan bahan yang diperlukan, Menentukan prosedur menjalankan eksperimen, kaedah mengumpul dan menganalisa data. d) Menjalankan eksperimen;
