Nuzool (Revelation) of Quran

on the night of 27 Ramadan: Allah subhanahu wa taala says in the Quran, Verily, We have sent it (this Quraan) down in the Night of Al-Qadr (Decree). [The Holy Quran Surah Al-Qadr 97: Ayah 1] The first revelation, from Allah through Angel Jibreel to Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was Read: In the Name of your Lord Who created, Created man from clots. Read: And your Lord is the Most Honorable, Who taught by the pen. He taught man what he did not know. [The Holy Quran Surah Al-Alaq 96 Ayah 1 to 5] Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, recited the verses and the verses were written down and also memorized by his companions as and when they were revealed over a period of 23 years at various occasions.

Let us encourage ourselves to read in detail about the Battle of Badr in a book of Seerah (Biography of Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

Opening of Makkah
on 23 Ramadan in the Hijri Year 8: After 13 years of persecution, killing, ostracization, inhuman sanctions, and merciless boycott of Muslims in Makkah, the idolaters of Makkah, waged the Battle of Badr, the Battle of Uhud, and gathered all the Allied Forces of Arabia and waged a war the Battle of Moat (Khandaq), all these efforts were to wipe out Islam, the Messenger of God, Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and the Muslims for the face of the earth. After the idolaters of Makkah violated the Peace Treaty, Allah Subhanahu Wa Taala made way for Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, to enter Makkah with 10,000 companions. He opened Makkah in order to allow its people to listen to the message of the Quran and to invite all to the way of Allah. The people of Makkah were afraid that Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, will take revenge of all they had done for all these years, and would kill every inhabitant of Makkah. Quite on the contrary Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, pardoned everyone and made announcements that whoever is next to Kaaba is safe, whoever is in the house of Abu Sufiyan is safe, and whoever is inside their houses are safe. The declaration of faith was made by innumerable men and women, by uttering There is no deity worthy of worship other than Allah, and Muhammad is a servant and messenger of Allah. The women when they became Muslim, in addition to the Declaration of Faith, also had to take an oath that they will not steal and they will not commit adultery. Opening of Makkah, has been erroneously referred to by some writers Conquest of Makkah, even though entering Makkah was not for the purpose of occupying or ruling the land or usurping its wealth or enslaving its people. The purpose of Opening Makkah was to stop its rulers from hindering in the way of inviting the masses to the message of Islam, and to give them a chance to listen to the Quran, and to relieve them from the worship of idols and to encourage them to worship Almighty Allah alone without associating any partners with Him. Let us encourage ourselves to read in detail about the Opening of Makkah in a book of Seerah (Biography of Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

Battle of Badr
on 16 / 17 Ramadan in the year Hijri 2: Allah subhanahu wa taala says in the Quran, and what We sent down upon our Bondman on the day of the all-distinctive Criterion, the day the two gatherings encountered. [The Holy Quran Surah Anfaal 8: Ayah 41] As you were on the closer embankment, and they were on the remotest embankment. and if you had made a mutual appointment, you would indeed have differed about the promised appointment, but that Allah might decree a Command that was to be performed. [The Holy Quran Anfaal 8: Ayah 42] As the two armies got ready, Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, prayed to Allah for a long time. O, Allah, if this group of believers are defeated, You shall not be worshipped on earth anymore. For Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, it was not a matter of victory, his main concern was the message, as the sole reason for the idolaters of Makkah to persecute Muslims, confiscate their properties, and force them to migrate to Madina, was to suppress the message. For the Idolaters of Makkah, the battle was to completely wipe out Muhammad and his followers so that the message of Islam cannot be delivered. For Muhammad and his followers it was to ensure that the message of Allah be proclaimed to all humanity, and if anyone would hinder in this Muslims have to fight them, remove these hindrances, so that the masses who are oppressed, and deprived of receiving the message of Islam, can be invited to Islam. Briefly, the Battle of Badr was a battle between truth and falsehood, those who were fighting for the cause of Allah, against those who were fighting for the cause of idolatry influenced by Satan.
