Standard: CP 2.2: The teacher uses an organizing framework (opening, work session, closing) for instructional planning to support standardsbased instruction. Understandings:
-Teachers will correctly identify proper techniques to use in a classroom setting to promote student engagement. -Teachers will understand the most important part of a lesson and how to execute it. -Teachers will use an organizing framework to help organize, the opening, work session, closing, and technology for instruction in the classroom. -Teachers will correctly use CPS (Classroom Performance Systems) in the classroom setting and relate them to instruction while incorporating achievement. - Teachers will chart learning and improvement before and after the implementation of Classroom Performance Systems.

Essential Questions: How can I use the work session to support technology based instruction in a standards-based classroom? How can I utilize technology to help engage my students in the learning process? Overarching Questions: -What does an activator do? - What importance does guided practice play? -What types of Classroom Performance Systems does our school provide? -What is a Classroom Performance System? -Why should I participate in collaboration? -What is the main purpose of independent practice? Topical Questions: -How will I use what I have learned in my classroom? - How will my students benefit from using Classroom Performance Systems -How can I support technology based instruction? -How can technology improve my activator? -How can technology improve my instruction? -How can technology improve guided practice? -How can technology improve independent practice? -How can I engage my students more efficiently?

Staff Development Room F16 (6th Grade Hall during collaboration) Room F16 Bell Ringer: Have teachers come in and find their name on the desk. Each desk has an index card. Allow teachers to write down the most important part of a lesson. (Pretest) Powerpoint will be placed on Activboard and will instruct them to do so. Appendix A (Attached) Introduce EQ: How can I use the work session to support technology based instruction in a standards-based classroom? How can I utilize technology to help engage my students in the learning process?
