FINISH SIZE Finished Cushion measures approx 60 cm x 60 cm YARN British Sheep Breeds DK A = Mid Brown Bluefaced Leicester 782 B = Bluefaced Leicester Marl 783 C = Brown Bluefaced Leicester 781 D = Bluefaced Leicester 780 MATERIALS Buttons 6 x medium size buttons Cushion Pad 1 x 60 cm [23] square cushion pad NEEDLES 1 pair 4 mm needles TENSION 22 sts x 30 rows = 10 cm measured over stocking st using 4 mm needles Special Abbreviations work 2tog = work 2 sts together yrn = yarn round needle NOTES * 1] Note for Knitters Please check your tension before commencing pattern. Use larger or smaller needles in order to achieve correct tension. * 2] Note for Knitters Cast on using the thumb method throughout pattern. Cast-off x50gm x50gm x50gm x50gm BACK Lower Back Using 4 mm needles cast on 133 sts with A Beg with a K row, cont to work in stocking stitch for 84 rows Row 85 [RS] k5 * p3, k3; rep from * to last 2 sts, k2 Row 86 p5 * k3, p3; rep from * to last 2 sts, p2 These 2 rows form rib Cont in rib for a further 10 rows, RS facing for next row 96 rows Cast off in rib Upper Back Using 4 mm needles cast on 133 sts with A Work in rib as given for lower back for 6 rows, RS facing for next row:Row 7 [RS] rib 8, [work 2tog, yrn, rib 21] 5 times, work 2tog, yrn, rib 8 6 buttonholes Work in rib for a further 5 rows, RS facing for next row 12 rows. Beg with a K row, cont in stocking stitch as given for lower back for 84 rows, RS facing for next row 96 rows:Cast off MAKE UP Pin and lay upper back over lower back so that rib sections overlap. Join back sections to the cushion front along entire outer edges. Sew buttons to lower back rib section to correspond with buttonholes on upper back rib section.
