COUNTABLE NOUN Countable noun are things you can count separately. They can be singular or plural.

Example of sentence with countable noun: 1. The shepherd looks after his fathers lamb regularly. 2. There are four ships tied at the dock now. 3. The pirates make their living by robbing the ships around them. 4. The children are very happy to go back to school after the long term. 5. Jacob have two pet dog at home. 6. The sailors handle the ships sails marvelously. 7. New text books are distributed to students this year. 8. She was so anxious that she opened all her presents at once. 9. I went to the market to buy some potatoes so that mom would make marsh potatoes for dinner. 10. There were rats all over the town of Hamelin once. Example of a paragraph with countable noun: One day, my friend Jenny invited me to a art exhibition held by students in her class. The exhibition is held in one of the classrooms in her school. The two hour exhibition turned out to be a success as a lot of parents and friends were present. The school parking lot is filled with cars. There are many paintings and crafts exhibited and most of them were on sale. The parents are proud of their children's work that they rushed to buy their children's handiwork. Some parents were also able to talk to the arts teachers who were there. Some even took the opportunity to take a tour around the school compound. The exhibition lasted for about three and half hours. The teachers and students went home satisfied.

UNCOUNTABLE NOUN Uncountable noun are things that you cannot count separately. They usually have no plural form. Examples of sentence with uncountable nouns: 1. Education is a very important asset in a persons life. 2. History reminds us of the past so that we wont repeat them. 3. The farmer sow seeds earnestly in order to have good harvest. 4. Asians adore rice as much as Westerns adore bread. 5. Time allocations are very important while sitting for an exam. 6. The patients are supplied with enough oxygen before the operation is started. 7. The weather is getting warmer day by day due to the thinning of the ozone layers. 8. Geography is not my favourite subject although it is very important. 9. Carbon Monoxide gas which exist in cigarette smoke is very harmful to human being. 10. The dress Adam bought for his girlfriend is very expensive as it is made of pure silk. Example of a paragraph with uncountable noun. Yesterday, and my house went out of electricity. My mother lost her temper to the electric company as she is halfway in cooking rice in the rice cooker. I helped my mom light up the candles. My sister tried to study in the dim candle light as she will be sitting for exam the next day. My younger brother found the candle light fascinating and played with it and ended up setting the living room carpet on fire. After all the screaming and shouting we manage to put out the fire. Then my dad called and told us that he will be late from work as it is raining cats and dogs. I told him of of our situation and he promised to buy some more candles when he stop by for some petrol later. Later that evening, we spend a lot of time lighting up the candles just in case. Finally, when we finished lighting up the last candle, the electricity went on again.
