SAT Reasoning Test and SAT Subject based test

HISTORY:
SAT occurred on June 23 1926 when it was known as scholastic aptitude test. Prepared by committee headed by Princeton psychologist Carl Campbell Brigham

STRUCTURE:
SAT Reasoning Test: consist of three major sections CRICTICAL READING, MATHEMATICS and WRITING. The Critical Reading (formerly Verbal) section of the SAT is made up of three scored sections: two 25-minute sections and one 20-minute section, with varying types of questions, including sentence completions and questions about short and long reading passages. Critical Reading sections normally begin with 5 to 8 sentence completion questions; the remainder of the questions is focused on the reading passages. Sentence completions generally test the student's vocabulary and understanding of sentence structure and organization by requiring the student to select one or two words that best complete a given sentence. The bulk of the Critical Reading section is made up of questions regarding reading passages, in which students read short excerpts on social sciences, humanities, physical sciences, or personal narratives and answer questions based on the passage. Certain sections contain passages asking the student to compare two related passages; generally, these consist of shorter reading passages. The number of questions about each passage is proportional to the length of the passage . THE MATHS SECTION: The math section measures mathematical problem solving and covers arithmetic, algebra, and geometry uses student-produced responses, quantitative comparison questions, and multiple choice questions. WRITING: There are two sections multiple questions and the essay section. The essay section has allocated the time of 25 minutes. SUBJECT TEST: Subject Tests are hour-long, content-based tests that allow showcasing achievement in specific subject areas where to excel. There are 20 SAT Subject Tests in five general subject areas: English, history, languages, mathematics and science. All SAT Subject Tests are one-hour, multiplechoice tests. In any given sitting of the SAT Subject Tests, can take one, two or three tests. Eligibility for SAT exam: Those who want to appear in this exam must have passed their Class XII from a recognized Indian university or education board. The students are required to take up further tests, personality test, essay writing and much more depending on the university or college you want to apply. The scores

that are finally considered depend upon the fact that in which college you want to apply. The score ranges accepted by colleges consider the mathematics and verbal scores.
