Meet Moshe Volovik

Moshe Volovik Candidate for Co-Chairman of the Minnesota College Republicans Moshe Volovik is a junior at the University of Minnesota majoring in Math with Actuarial Science. He is a proud Republican; he actively volunteered for a number of candidates in 2012, including Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker during the recall elections, Kurt Bills, Tony Hernandez and a number of local candidates around the Twin Cities. Moshe is also heavily involved in student government. He current represents University of Minnesota Twin Cities undergraduates on the Senate Consultative Committee, the committee overseeing the Us shared governance structure. In the course of his senate involvement, Moshe had the distinction of providing the lone vote of opposition out of 250 students and faculty to vote against a resolution opposing the voter ID amendment, which would have brought integrity to Minnesota elections if it had passed. This semester Moshe also served as a member of the Student Service Fees Committee, tasked with allocating tens of millions of dollars to administrative units at the U. He pushed to hold the line on ever-increasing student fees in this position. Moshe's expertise in student government provides a unique opportunity for the Minnesota College Republicans to engage with our fellow students on campus. As Co-chair of the Minnesota College Republicans, Moshe will travel to MNCR chapters across the state to encourage our members to get involved in student government. He will further provide hands-on assistance with candidates for student government positions throughout Minnesota who share our values and interests.
