ISTD Diploma: Internship Project Report The internship commences after successfully completion of Part-A Papers.

However, the report will be accepted on clearing of all the written papers and completion of 18 months prescribed period.. The internship comprises either of the following two alternatives:

Alternative I a) One study report bringing out training requirements of an Organisation/ Deapartment. b) Report of five Training sessions, conducted by the candidate (or any other person). The report should include sessions objective(s), methodology, contents, training aids/ reading material etc. c) One Evaluations Study of a Specific Training Programme, conducted by self or any other person/agency, using appropriate methodology. d) Two Cases- prepared by the candidate, which may be used in a Training Session. The text of cases should be supported by questions for discussion, possible learning points and faculty notes etc. Alternative II A project report based on in-depth study and critical analysis of the following HRD and training aspects of an organisation: a) HRD System: Human Resource Planning, Training Policy, Training Budget. b) Training Needs Assessment System. c) Training and other Development Programmes and their Evaluation. d) Strategy for improving HRD activities in the organisation.
No leave of absence from one's workplace is required to do the internship as it can be carried out within the student's own organisation or any other organisation depending upon the convenience and availability of a suitable person to act as Internship Guide. Detailed procedural instructions with regard to Internship Project are sent to the candidate only on clearance of all eight theory papers. The essential steps for the Internship Report are: i) Proposal for a suitable Guide along with a Preparatory Note ii) Submission of a Detailed Work Plan iii) Submission of Mid-term Report and iv) Submission of Final Internship Report. The Final Internship Report (FIR) is evaluated first by Student's Internship Guide followed by an External Examiner, appointed by ISTD. A candidate is declared successful if the aggregate of marks awarded by Internship Guide and the External Examiner adds up to 120 out of total 200 marks allotted for Internship Report, subject to the award of minimum of 60 marks out of a maximum of 100 by each examiner. Internship being the final and essential part of Diploma programme and as such no candidate is exempted from completing this part.
