Educational Experience: Student Teaching Internship Student Teacher at Lafayette High School, Williamsburg VA February 2013- May 2013 Taught differentiated, student-centered lessons in regards to students interests, English proficiency, and IEPs with the use of the Realidades series for Spanish II and Spanish III students. Included literacy development skills and strategies, such as creative writing, through the reading of local legends in lessons. Implemented research based strategies, such as the 2 for 10 strategy to improve relationships with students and to minimize disruption. Maintained communication about students progress and assignments with students and their families through the use of EDLINE. Held conference to discuss parents concerns about progress and future goals of their student. Incorporated ACTFL 5 Cs and the three communicative goals during short-term and longterm planning. Developed, implemented and evaluated performance-based assessments and used a variety of formative and summative assessment. Attended faculty meetings, departmental meetings, and a Shared Leadership Council meeting. Incorporated opportunities for pair-work, group work, independent practice, and station teaching throughout the lessons.

Practicum Field Experience Lafayette High School, Williamsburg, VA September 2012- December 2012 Taught differentiated lessons in regards to students interests, English proficiency, and IEPs with the use of the Realidades series for Spanish I and Spanish III students. Created a behavior management plan and implemented a research-based intervention for a misbehaving student with positive results. Developed, implemented, and evaluated performance-based assessments.

Other Pertinent Experience Delivered small group and individual instruction for ESL students at Blayton Elementary in Williamsburg, VA and at B.C. Charles Elementary in Newport News, VA. Attended 3 ESL Summer Institute classes focused on multiple aspects of ESL instruction, assessment, and cross-cultural awareness. Attended faculty meeting on improving ESL instruction and the writing of SMART Goals.

Co-Curricular Interests Spanish Club, I would welcome the opportunity to collaborate with students to assist them in their exploration of Latino culture. Arabic Club, Given my educational background, I would enjoy initiating or assisting a club already created to help students gain more knowledge of Middle Eastern culture.
