FAIM 2013 conference organising commi5ee cordially invites everyone, from academy to industry to par<cipate in the 23rd Interna<onal Conference on Flexible Automa<on and Intelligent Manufacturing, to be held in Porto on 26 28 June 2013. The theme of FAIM 2013 conference is: The Challenge of Sustaining Global CompeCCve Manufacturing Systems PAPER SUBMISSION

Mul<disciplinary papers on one of the conference topic areas must be submi5ed through the conference website and will be rigorously peer-reviewed and evaluated by three referees for technical content. The maximum page limit is 8 pages. All accepted papers will be published in the FAIM 2013 conference proceedings and special books, published by Springer. FAIM 2013 proceedings will be submi5ed to be indexed by ISI Web of Science.

CONFERENCE LOCATION: PORTO, PORTUGAL

Porto is the largest city in the north of Portugal, on the western most <p of con<nental Europe. Situated on the banks of the Douro River inn the heart of an area of great vitality, surrounded by several modern industrial companies.

The Historic Centre of Porto, classied as World Heritage by UNESCO, is one of the most a5rac<ve entertainment venues for visitors, providing a rich variety of monuments and ordinary dwelling, from dierent periods stretching back as far as the 14th century.

The conference will cover a wide range of topics in the following areas: Product, Process and Factory Integrated Design Manufacturing Technology and Intelligent Systems Manufacturing OperaCons Management and OpCmisaCon Manufacturing Networks and MicroFactories.

FAIM 2013 program will include four Special Sessions:

RoboCcs in Smart Manufacturing; HolisCc Approaches for Energy Eciency in Factory Planning and Management; Lean Six Sigma; Smart Data for Smart Manufacturing Systems.
