Next Stop.... Mozambique

As I look back to last April, Im surprised to remember that I was just barely leaving South Sudan. -- I know. Crazy. Huh? I remember struggling hard to unhook the deep heart strings connecting me to people Id grown to love, and wrestling with whether to go back. Plus at the time, I was dealing with some pretty gnarly PTSD. --Do you remember? I sure do! Three months passed before I could think straight or even make simple decisions about my future. --It was rough.
Make me walk in the path of Your commandments for I delight in it.

Then I spent the next three months checking out various ministries. Thats when I went to Mexico... and eventually Mozambique. Thats also when the call came. To this date, the call to go to Mozambique remains the loudest of my life. But once I got it, I then spent the next three (long) months waiting. And when I write the word waiting I really want to scream it in frustration. --W. A. I. T. I. N. G! You might be thinking to yourself just now, Oh, boo hoo. She had to wait 3 whole months. and you know

APRIL 2013 VOLUME 63

what... youd be right. When I think back I want to laugh at my impatience. It was only three months. But at the time, it was anything but easy. When God finally opened the door for me to move forward I was thrilled. And yep, youve guessed it. It has only been about 3 months again that hes been blessing and moving. Im amazed at how quickly He has put everything together. His provision humbles me day after day. And His grace and joy flatten me in worship! Rejoice with me as I step out again on the next adventure that He has prepared... oh, and please please pray! In Him alone,

~ Haiti ~
As I stepped off the plane in Haiti last month, I didnt quite know what to expect. Haiti had obviously changed a lot in the three years Id been away... but had it changed enough? --I wasnt sure. I needed to get my Haitian police clearance, but I only had 4 and a half days to get it. Was I asking for the impossible? --Perhaps. Fortunately, we serve a God of the impossible! And nothing is too hard for Him! --NOTHING! Several missionaries and a Haitian police officer friend worked with me that week to get everything I needed. We were not only able to obtain my

police clearance... but we were able to get it expedited in just one day! PTL! But I also had a second reason in going; I hoped to deliver a friends baby that week as well. Sadly, her baby wasnt born while I was there. Nevertheless, she has since delivered a healthy chubster. Welcome baby E! Thank you for your prayers. I felt them every day! ~SW

Prayer & Praise

The golf tournament was a huge success. Thanks for praying and participating! My time in Haiti was a very healing & productive time. Plus, I got my police clearance quickly! PTL. Also my Sudanese police clearance has arrived! The Simply the Story workshop this week was a-maz-ing! Despite spiritual warfare, God moved powerfully! My sister delivered twins this week! Welcome baby E and baby T! I love you already! Pray for traveling mercies. I leave on Monday, but I wont arrive for over 4 days. Please pray for protection, provision, and peace.

Simply the Story ~

My last week has been taken up by the Simply the Story workshop at my home church of Calvary Chapel Mesquite NV. Thirty people came to participate in this remarkably deep oral Bible teaching method. It was AMAZING! Rarely have I had so much work to do, and yet not even notice the time pass. We were having too much fun! I saw lives change this week as young and... achem... the not-soyoung alike worked side by side to master a new way of searching the scriptures. I cannot wait to hear all the testimonies of those who attended and see how God moves them to use it in future ministry! Whoohooo!!! If you dont know this method, check out simplythestory.org. ~ SW
