What is a job catalogue? Its a document that catalogs all the leadership positions available in AIESEC Edmonton. It helps us understand our HR needs and ensures that the people we recruit know how their role impacts AIESEC. By outlining clear job descriptions, time commitments, cross-portfolio collaboration and the skills required, we ensure that we have the right people doing the right jobs. The Selection Process All applicants will be required to attend a group interview and an individual interview. Applicant will be notified by February 7th of the result of their interviews. A mandatory induction session will take place on February 9th at the University of Alberta.

Portfolio Descriptions
Communications (COMM)
This portfolio is in charge of communicating important information and key messages to members and alumni, as well as, increasing AIESECs visibility among university, student and corporate stakeholders. Communications members pride themselves on being one step ahead of the trend by continually exploring new ways to communicate with and engage AIESECs diverse stakeholder groups.

Business Development (BD)


One of the most challenging and personally rewarding portfolios in AIESEC is Business Development. This portfolio is in charge of raising internships in the city as well as connecting with the alumni that helped build our Local Committee. As a member of BD, you will facilitate corporate meetings, network with alumni and industry professionals, and help plan events for community engagement. You will have the opportunity to develop relationship building, communication, and meeting facilitation skills by interacting with our fascinating alumni as well as top executives in the Edmonton business community.

Finance (F)
Think Finance is just about balancing the books? Think again! As a member of Finance not only will you be in charge of maintaining the chapter s financial health, but you will be responsible for diversifying our sources of revenue, creating important financial policies and liaising with the other portfolios to help them stay on budget for their projects. By joining the Finance team you will gain greater insight into how a nonprofit manages its financial assets and gain valuable problem solving skills.

Incoming Exchange (ICX)


As a member of Incoming Exchange you will be performing both Human Resources and Event Planning roles. You will be matching internships available in Edmonton with suitable candidates, helping them get their documents in order to come, as well as aiding them in getting situated in the city. Part of the integration process involves throwing them a welcoming party as well as ensuring they see as much of Edmonton as well as Alberta!

Outgoing Exchange (OGX)


Challenge your view on the world by joining the Outgoing Exchange portfolio. The members of the OGX portfolio often find their roles to be very rewarding since they directly impact the lives of people they send away on exchange. As well, since OGXs exchange projects focus on issues such as global partnerships, eliminating poverty, womens rights and global health; you have the opportunity to have a positive impact on the world you live in by sending people away on exchanges that address these issues.

Human Resources (HR)


HR is in charge of developing the people that join this organization and ensuring that we are recruiting the right people for the roles we have available. HR is important because they ensure that members are getting what they want out of AIESEC and are well suited for the positions that they carry. HR also works on a variety of events aimed at engaging members, alumni and business professionals to become more involved and gain awareness about AIESEC. Members will have the opportunity to plan and facilitate approximately 3 events this year

Communications (COMM)

Position: Director of Digital Communications Reports To: Nancy Te, VP Communications Duration: 10 Months Time Commitment: 4-6 hours/week Application Deadline: Friday, January 25, 2013 @11:59PM Description: As a Director of Digital Communications, you will be responsible for ensuring that your team is effectively and accurately communicating the AIESEC brand on a digital communications level. Key Responsibilities: o o o o Direct and maintain high level of digital communications Active updates and posts on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn Organize team Keeping high morale within team

Expectations: o o o o o Committed and engaged to AIESEC Able to meet deadlines Regular attendance at AIESEC events (includes welcome dinners and other general events) Regular attendance at monthly General Assemblies Attendance at National Leadership Development Conference in Calgary (May 2-6)

Position: Creative Design Manager Reports To: Nancy Te, VP Communications Duration: 10 Months Time Commitment: 4-6 hours/week Application Deadline: Friday, January 25, 2013 @11:59PM Description: As a Creative Design Manager, you will be responsible for enhancing the Communications portfolio with creative arrangements including but not limited to fine arts and innovative projects. Key Responsibilities: o o o Leading the portfolio in the AIESEC Edmonton blog Using Flickr or any creative medium to share the AIESEC culture Ensuring aesthetically pleasing appearances in relevant projects

Position: Special Projects Manager Reports To: Nancy Te, VP Communications Duration: 10 Months Time Commitment: 4-6 hours/week Application Deadline: Friday, January 25, 2013 @11:59PM Description: As a Special Projects Manager, you will be responsible for finding opportunities to collaborate with other clubs and coordinating events/special projects to expose AIESEC and its purpose. Key Responsibilities: o o o o Develop and follow-through with projects that is relevant to AIESEC Edmontons 2013/2014 vision Consistently seeking opportunities with other groups and initiating projects Work with the HR portfolio to create, direct, and attend events/projects Be active with ongoing special projects (ex. Incoming Exchange (ICX)

Position: Director of Intern Servicing Reports To: Kyler Baker, VP Incoming Exchange Duration: 11 Months Time Commitment: 4-10 Hours per week Application Deadline: Friday, January 25, 2013 @11:59PM Description: As a Director of Intern Servicing, you will be responsible for finding, sorting, and selecting interns for specific positions; aid the incoming intern in adjusting to the culture of Edmonton; help the intern integrate into their new job; and maintain a strong relationship with both the intern and company throughout the entire process to ensure the greatest possible experience. During down times, you will be responsible for completing smaller projects as they arise. Key Responsibilities: o o o o o Working with companies to find the most suitable candidate for a specific position. This involves sorting, interviewing, and selecting applicants Initiating and maintaining strong, beneficial relationships with both the intern and the company throughout the entire exchange process Aiding the incoming intern in their integration into everyday life from before they arrive, until after they are comfortable in their new job Planning for, and understanding, the risk management of any situation that may arise, before, during, or after the incoming intern arrives Strive to provide the greatest possible intern experience for both the intern themselves and the company in which they work for

Outgoing Exchange (OGX)

Position: Exchange Participants Manager Reports To: Carmen Dam, VP Outgoing Exchange Duration: 10 Months Time Commitment: 4-6 Hours per week Application Deadline: Friday, January 25, 2013 @11:59PM Description: As an Exchange Participant Manger, you are responsible for working with exchange participants from the University of Alberta and helping them search, apply and interview for internships abroad. You will be their point of contact within AIESEC, and will answer their questions, invite them to events, and keep in contact with them while they are abroad. Key Responsibilities: o o o o o o o o Introducing self and meeting with Exchange Participants when first assigned to understand their ideal internship Contacting assigned Exchange Participants once a week for an update regarding internship applications Searching the database AT LEAST every two weeks for potential internships for each assigned Exchange Participant Contacting Exchange Participant Manager Team Lead once a week with an update on Exchange Participants Status Answering Exchange Participants questions Maintain contact with Exchange Participants while they are on their internship Attend AIESEC General Assemblies and other events; inviting Exchange Participants to events Help facilitate registration and database training after Review Boards and matching at Outgoing Preparation Seminars

Position: Review Board Director Reports To: Carmen Dam, VP Outgoing Exchange Duration: 10 Months Time Commitment: 5 -7 hours per week Application Deadline: Friday, January 25, 2013 @11:59PM Description: As the Review Board Director, you are the initial point of contact for potential exchange participants at the University of Alberta and will answer all inquiries until they have been paired with an EP manager after passing a review board. You will plan review boards and are responsible for the logistics behind them in conjunction with the Director of Projects. Key Responsibilities: o o o o o o Pre-screening applicants/leads and generating correspondence from them Answering questions applicants have about internships and the interview process Selecting quality exchange participants for interviews Scheduling interviews Contacting applicants and panelists for review board interviews as well as EP managers to help facilitate registration and database training Attend AIESEC General Assemblies and other events

Position: Director of Projects Reports To: Carmen Dam, VP Outgoing Exchange Duration: 10 Months Time Commitment: 3 -6 hours per week Application Deadline: Friday, January 25, 2013 @11:59PM Description: As the Director of Projects, you will be in charge of planning and facilitating events for exchange participants which include recruitment, an outgoing preparation seminar, and a reintegration event. For recruitment events, you will be working with the appropriate person(s) from the Communications portfolio as required. Key Responsibilities: o o o o o Planning, at the very minimum, 1 recruitment event and 1 outgoing preparation seminar for every review board that is being held as well as a reintegration event to occur in the beginning of the fall term Facilitating the events and making sure that all logistics run accordingly Communicating with the EP managers to ensure that exchange participants are present at the events Assisting the Review Board Director with logistics as necessary Attend AIESEC General Assemblies and other events

They will be responsible for developing effective tracking systems and monitoring the goals and skills of each member in the local committee as well as provide necessary coaching and training to groups or individuals within the local committee. Key Responsibilities: o o o o o Work as a team to research and develop a system to track member engagement and satisfaction. Discuss member experience with the HR team Provide and attend training sessions as necessary Be considered an expert on key platforms and tools used by AIESEC Edmonton Develop member inductions and training sessions

Key Responsibilities: o o o o Work as a team to develop monthly general assemblies Work on a team to plan social events for the general membership Create a platform for rewards and recognition within AIESEC Edmonton based on current structures Develop and distribute monthly newsletters for the general membership

Position: Team Leader of LC Development Reports To: Kayla Baretta, VP Human Resources Duration: 10 Months Time Commitment: 10-15 Hours per week Application Deadline: Friday, January 25, 2013 @11:59PM Description: The Team Leader of Local Committee Development will be responsible for running a team of three to four individuals. The team will be responsible for the tracking of member and leader satisfaction and engagement within the entire local committee. They will plan leadership retreats, team building events, induction and training sessions as necessary. The team will be responsible for the research, development, and usage of tracking systems. Key Responsibilities: o o o o o Coordinate the local committee development team Develop leadership retreats, team building events, induction and training sessions with the LC development team Research and develop tracking tools and train and execute VPs on the usage of the tracking tools Develop an onboarding procedure for the local committee Respond to the needs of their team members
