WELCOME TO PEACE WITH CHRIST

LUTHERAN CHURCH!

We give thanks to God that you are joining us today!

Many of our guests are seeking a home church where they
can be part of the Fellowship of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Peace with Christ is a congregation that is a family not an
“organization”. We are small enough to allow people to
know each other by name, and yet large enough to offer
opportunities for growth and service. What we “specialize”
in is not programs or productions, but simply The Gospel
of Our Lord Jesus. Christ, His Word, and the Cross are
what provide the foundation for faith and ministry. If you
are interested in learning more about Peace With Christ
Lutheran Church, please call the church office at 226-4721.
Pastor Patrick would welcome the opportunity to visit with
you personally.
THE TIME before the service may be used for prayer and preparation.
Read through the worship bulletin and familiarize yourself with the service.
A few moments spent this way will help make the service more meaningful.

A READING FROM THE BOOK OF CONCORD
FIFTH SUNDAY IN LENT
LARGE CATECHISM
PART III, THE LORD'S PRAYER
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

So far we have prayed that God's name be honored by us and that

His kingdom triumph among us. These two points deal with
God's honor and our salvation. We receive God as our own and
all His riches. But now we must firmly keep God's honor and our
salvation, and not allow ourselves to be torn from them. In
God's kingdom, although we have prayed for the greatest need we
must also pray that God's will be done if we are to abide in
God's will. We shall have to suffer many blows from everything
that seeks to oppose the fulfillment of the first two petitions.

No one can believe how the devil opposes these prayers. He

cannot allow anyone to teach or to believe rightly. It hurts
him to have his lies and abominations exposed, which have been
honored under the sham use of the divine name. It hurts him
when he himself is disgraced, is driven out of the heart, and
has to let a breach be made in his kingdom. Therefore, he rages
as a fierce enemy with all his power and might. He marshals all
his subjects and, in addition, enlists the world and our own
flesh as his allies. For our flesh is in itself lazy and inclined to
evil [Rom. 7:18], even though we have believed God's Word. The
world is wicked. So he provokes the world against us, fans and
stirs the fire, so that he may drive us back, cause us to fall, and
again bring us under his power [2 Cor. 2:11; 1 Tim. 3:6-7].

Ablaze! Praise – Mar. 16-31

The Holy Spirit is moving Lutherans to speak the Good News
to unreached and uncommitted people. Read more Ablaze!
faith-sharing experiences at www.lcms.org/ablaze.

Daily Prayers:

Sunday: For the vacuum salesman with whom Anne Gonzalez, of

Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Onalaska, Wis., shared her
Christ-centered Lutheran faith. Anne wrote, He couldn't believe that we
did not have to do any good works to get to heaven.” Pray for the Holy
Spirit to use this conversation to create faith in this salesman’s heart.

Monday: With thanks for the loving witness of Max, a fifth-grader

from St. Paul Lutheran Church in Peachtree, Ga., who shared his faith
through a witnessing bracelet with the driver and passenger of a truck
that had struck his mother’s car in an auto accident.
Tuesday: That the Lord would bless the faithful witness of James
Davis, of Faith Lutheran Church in Eldersburg, Md., who stepped out
of his comfort zone to share the true Gospel with a co-worker in need of
comfort.

Uganda – Apr. 1-15

LCMS World Mission began work in Uganda in 1995 as part of
a regional East Africa strategy. In partnership with the Evan-
gelical Lutheran Church of Ghana, LCMS World Mission sup-
ports leadership training to equip evangelists and pastors
throughout East Africa, where the Lutheran church has seen
explosive growth.

Wednesday: For missionaries Jacob and Michelle Gillard, and their

daughters, Amelia and Evangeline. The Gillards help train, disciple, and
walk alongside the leaders in the Lutheran Church Mission Uganda, the
growing Lutheran church body in Uganda.

Thursday: For missionaries Shauen and Krista Trump, who arrived

in Kampala, Uganda in January 2009. Shauen is completing his two-
year vicarage. Shauen works with fellow missionary Jacob Gillard in
training, discipling, and walking alongside the leaders in this church
body. Krista is a labor and delivery nurse and hopes to reach out to the
people of Uganda through health care ministry.

Friday: For Ablaze! Alliance Missionary Solomon Ayagri, sent by the

Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ghana, and his family, as they serve in
Uganda. Since their arrival in 2002, Solomon has planted more than 20
new churches. As the Ayagris prepare to return to Ghana, thank the
Lord for his faithful service!

Saturday: For the Lutheran Church Mission Uganda (LCMU). The

LCMU has one ordained pastor, six evangelists, many dedicated lay
leaders, and six regional Mission Training Centers (MTCs) where lay-
men are trained. Pray for God’s continued blessing and care to this
young church body—that it may continue to grow and glorify Him as
its members proclaim His truths.
