Critical Appreciation of poem La Bella Dame Sans Marci

La Bella Dame Sans Mercy-: A French title that means A beautiful lady without merci written by English poet John Keats. John Keats was a famous romantic poet and it is ballad. It exists is two versions, with minor differences between them. The original was written by john Keats in 1819. He used the title of a 15th century poem by alien chertier it is a poem is twelve short stanza only four lines each , with a simple ABCD rhyme scheme.

Biography of John Keats

John Keats was a romantic poet of high degree. He was born in London on 31 October 1795. To day his poems and letters are some of the most popular and most analyzed in English literature. His father worked as a hostler and his family belonged to middle class. He was sent to a local dame school as a child. When Keats was little year his father died, after some time. Keats interest ward in the classic of history and politics and called him a poet of renaissance literature. He won the first prize of academic prize in midsummer on 1809 and when Keats was 14 year old his mother died form tuber colossus leaving the childrens in the custody of their grand mother. John Keats had a desire to become a doctor, but caused of responsibility his family. He changed his plan and taken the interest of untimely and started of written the songs and letters.

After some time Keats devoted more and more time spent in his study of literature experiment with verse form particularly the soonest. John Keats started wrote some poems of that period. Some poems did not publish. But after some time he write La Bella Dance Sons Merci on 1819. This poem made him famous poet. He gat many goodwill from this poem. John Keats diseases reached into the final stage. He was suffering from the tuberculosis. He went to Rome in his lost time after some time poet began to cough and then blood vomiting he died in Rome on 23 February 1821 and was buried in the protestant cemetery Rome.

The beautiful lips cheeks and eyes make women more beautiful but these things are mortal. They decry with the passage of time one day. Love based on the good quality and perfect character. True beauty makes a character good.

There was a atmosphere began with winter search a knight is wandering here and three on the top of hills. Poet asked him why you are wandering there but poet seemed that he is looking sad and tired. Knights forehead is white and bloodiness like a white lily seemed to mental worried and excitement on his face.

The Knight describes about the Beautiful Lady It seemed that she was the daughter of fairy -:
The knight tells to poet about her beauty lady like as fairy child. He meet a lady in the meadows she was extremely beautiful, she had long hair and she worked in graceful manner, her eyes were full of emotional excitement. Knight says that they expressed their lone for each-other.

Now knight says that he prepared some ornaments with flower for that Lady -:
He made a garland for her head and made two bracelets for her wrist. His made a sweet smelling belt for her she looked at him with loving eyes. She song sweetly. Then knight lifted her on his horse which was running fast and all day he gazed her beauty only. He saw hutting brides he, her beauty was looking so grace full and pure. Knight has full from the enjoyment. He sung a song which was the song of fairy. The lady brought food and liquid for him and she expressed her love for him. Beautiful leady gave him a juice of the knight and prepared some delicious food for him. After some time she said something to him, but he did not understand her languages but he just

certain that she had beloved her true love for him, Knight tells that she express her love for him with believed and inner felling. Lady entertained knight and expressed her love for him lady look him in her cave. The cave was very beautiful and comfortable. There she wept and sighed. Knight just that she was weeping because she feared that he would deceived her. He was felted deep love for her lady. He wanted to assume her lady that he would never leave her. He kissed her several time and her eyes which were full form emotional excitement. In her cave leady looked the knight to sleep he says with very regret that in his sleep he saw a very fright full dream. That was the last dream on the cold hillside he did not dream after it because he never slept.

There are important themes of this poem -:

Knight describes his dream to the poet. He was warned by the person who had been a pray to this lady before him. In this dream the knight saw kings warriors and prince their faces were white and bloodless, they were pale like dead, bodies. They said with angry that the lady without merci had mad him her slave poet says to knight that you are caught in the love track of beautiful lady. Knight says that she described him. Knight saw in the evening with dim light that the lips of kings warrior and prince. They were afraid to seeing this scence they all have caught her merciless lady had made him her slave. The knight awoke up he found himself lying on the side of cold hill. In the last moment knight said that beautiful lady deceived him to made him her slave this is reason that he was staying on the cold hill alone and winter had come and grass dried and birds had migrated to warmer places. merciless women. She is looking good and perfect character. But it is all conceit of turgidity and affectation of purify for every person.

Definition of Beauty There are four kinds of beauties -:

1. Physical Beauty -:
Physical beauty is a visible form of mental emotional and spiritual beauty its means that physical beauty is outer and inner is physical beauty which destroyed day by day at last it is finished one day because it is an artificial beauty.

2. Emotional Beauty -:
Beauty and create a sores of mercy emotional makes a purity and exact of the heart of person. Emotional is full with mercy. A sense of sympathizing, sharing troubles and causing pain suffering due to selfishness ugliness etc. Emotional make a man more symphy and felling for each others.

3. Mental Beauty -:
A creating a bomb ugly like that inventing flower beautiful inventing medicine beautiful mind is main controller of every thing. Mental position creates of two types thought.

4. Spiritual Beauty-:
It is called the metaphysical beauty spiritual is a like of deeply sense of heart, which derived from the natural sphere; it makes pure and dear to our soul and makes them philosopher. 1. Inner beauty is real beauty not an out side beauty. 2. Merci makes a woman more beautiful and gives her peace of heart and mind. 3. Truth felling and true love are real beauty with out its beauty is useless. This true beauty should be present of both side, interior and exterior then our beauty makes so perfect and tremendous. 1. A thing of beauty is a joy for ever. Joy makes a person more beautiful and gives us assign peaceful beauty. 2. Beauty is truth and truth is beauty without truth, Beauty like that body is without soul. True beauty is most important things for human being.

There are two theme of true beauty -:

1. Life- Beautiful 2. Death- Ugly True and fear is a part of beauty

No fear with truth, because true is noble virtue of beauty it is a natural quality and it never die.

Fear -:
It is attached to life and lie is ugly as it can die any time, lies life is short time. It is very fearful silence who keeps always confusion of person.

Like Portia remarked -:

Portia remarked -: Portia explain the virtue of mercy she says that mercy is a noble virtue of human heart. It cannot be shown under the force, it comes out of heart as naturally as the gentle rain falls from the sky upon the earth , like that mercy present in the heart of the king when a king softeners his justice with mercy his power appear very much like the power of god.

Poet defines beauty and its purpose in life -:

Beauty is not a only physical charm it is inner feeling of our heart mercy, peace, loves, joy makes a beauty perfect , when these element are staying in our heart , life is so pleasure , but we lost that life becomes a useless thing.

Look of cordination in the personality never and outer of the lady -:

That is not necessary one lady. Who is beautiful but not a cruel heart woman, some time we finds that beautiful women more cruel rather than to man.

Outer beauty is a fashionable it is a mortal thing and it will destroyed one day.

Inner Beauty -:
Inner beauty is a merciful thing it is a immortal part of god.

Times role in beauty Shakespeare says that beauty is like a flower -:

Beauty is a natural and it snatched by nature one day, so never should be proud on the physical beauty. Time plays most important role in beauty, our life depends on the time, while beauty is the most charming and valuable thing, but time takes it away from man time travels quickly and plunder beauty can not be hidden away from time. The passage of time cut short the human life and physical charm, but true beauty never finished. The time is very short of physical beauty and inner beauty gives us more pleasure delight enthusing and full of our life with happily.

The main theme of this poem of a beauty beauty is truth and truth is a beauty. A lady is beautiful but she has no merci in her heart. There are given some opinion about of the true beauty.

1. Beauty should be full with physically and inner soul. 2. True beauty makes a man more beauty and gave perfect soul and thought. 3. Physically beauty is only formalities but inner beauty is purest and full with pleasure.

The purpose of beauty is to give us a good feel. A good feel which has no bad sting hidden or visible. Keats has staled this idea in his ode on a Grecian urn where he says:1. The sights of gracias are raises in poetics mind a host of association. This mind goes back to the past and he reconstructs in his imagination the details of the picture carved in the figure left even after the laps of ages makes the poet think of the permanence of out as constrated with the transience of human life and sensuous beauty human emotion and human happiness are brief, but art can enshrine them with an ideal beauty that never fades. 2. Like that-: The ode and a Grecian urn is not a dream of unutterable beauty nor is the urn itself the sigh of an impossible bliss beyond morality. 3. Keats worshipped beauty as did the Greeks a thing of beauty is a joy forever. It loneliness increases; it well never pass into nothingness (Endymion). Beauty does its purpose in being constructive and therefore beginning a good feel a beautiful feel. Only physical beauty is not a symbol of beauty rather than a woman should be beauty from heart and mind, because physical beauty would be immortal one day other wise inner beauty is mortal. 5. Comparison with the ideal women like that (Candida)- Bold exp Candida is a good ideal and more beautiful woman. Candida has wonderful sense of proportion she never losses it. She is devoted and loving wife, her heart is full with purity and sympathy. There are showed a perfect beauty in the character Candida. The sense of beauty over came every other consideration. A thing of beauty is a joy for ever it is the symbol of the universal beauty with is eternal.

Inspiration by the beauty-: Truth beauty rejoice and good felling and truth beauty makes a woman more charming pure mind, sympathy , good nature and good sense are most important features for a complete is useless and artificial.

La Bella Dame Sons Merci-: Mean the beautiful lady without mercy. Its the title of a old French count poem by again charier. The lover sings this old song as he is awakening his beloved. A beauty lady but her heart full from cruelty. In the lost moment they were the womans slaves and she deceived him. She was more beauty but sympathy and good sense did not present in her heart. There fore complete beauty was absence in her characters. The poet finally wants to dwell upon the idea of meanings of this world. He seams to suggest that nothing in this world is purposeless. So also beauty has peer poses to serve. Now beauty as it goes with the meaning is this word has to make everything beautiful that it reflection. Physical beauty enclosing ugly ideas like cruelty is hollow, meaning less and even dangerous as in case of La Bella Dams Sons Merci. She is turning all princes and kings into stone and doesnt have compassion so the end result is that she is spreading ugliness in this world which cancels her physical beauty her beauty becomes a curse for every body.
